The TV Addict Podcast is Back!
Back by popular demand [no seriously, I’ve got the emails to prove it!] and in an effort to fill the massive hole left by the shocking [and disappointing] demise of the TVGuide Podcast, this TV Addict has decided to bring back theTVaddict.com Podcast.
And befitting our spectacular second season premiere is a surprise return of an old [not really old] favorite. Original co-host Ariel is back on board as we endlessly ramble about the week that was in television.
Click here to listen or here to check it out in iTunes. You can also subscribe to our podcast by clicking any of the following links:
As usual, comments are greatly appreciated, as well as reviews on iTunes. Got a question? Feel free to email it to info@thetvaddict.com
Rob Thomas Exits 90210
This just in: Rob Thomas is following in the footsteps of Dylan, Brandon, Valerie and Andrea by leaving 90210. According to E!Online, Thomas “is stepping aside in order to focus on his other two pilots, both for ABC.” Putting to rest the rumor that he’s off to Hong Kong to hang with Mr. and Mrs. Walsh.
Thanks to GMMR for the Tip!
How I Became Disappointed With HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
As a card carrying member of the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER fan club, this TV Addict knows all too well that it’s in the mandate to unapologetically gush over every episode [not to mention every Barneyism]. That said, the TV Addict woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning so I’ll just say this. Last night’s adventure was anything but Legen… [wait for it] dary.
When did HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER turn into your average CBS sitcom? The brilliance of MOTHER and what used to set it apart from your standard sitcom fare was its mind-blowing ability to have different plots converge in hilarious and unexpected ways. Marshall recounting the tale of “The Ninja Report” as the gang sat around the bar and offered advice was for lack of a better word ‘boring’, or dare we say it — seemingly ripped from the plot-line of a RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.
Worse still, it signifies a growing and worrisome trend with the series as a whole. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER seems to be on pause.
I’m so Excited – Mario Lopez Assumes the Role of Zach in Broadway A Chorus Line
By: theTHEATREaddict
The headline was too tempting. Mario Lopez, a.ka. AC Slater, will make his Broadway debut tonight playing the coveted role of the director Zach in the revival of the legendary musical A Chorus Line. Of any character in the show it has the least amount of dancing and singing but Lopez does have a song and dance background, Kid’s Incorporated anyone. Wow I have really dated myself. For a look at Lopez in rehearsals visit Broadwayworld.com
The Broadway traditionalists continue to scream about the basterdization of Broadway via stunt casting but I believe if the actor has a reasonable amount of talent and can entice a new audience into the theatre it is good for all of Broadway and all theatre. I can’t imagine any actor stunt casted takes their role on Broadway for granted. They work hard and are well aware they are there to prove they can sing, dance and act with the most seasoned gypsies. So AC break legs tonight!
90210 Casting Update
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that AnnaLynne McCord has joined the cast of the highly anticipated CW project BEVERLY HILLS 90210 Version 2.0. McCord, who was most recently seen reeking havoc at McNamara/Troy [NIP/TUCK] will play Naomi a wealthy and popular student who in the grand tradition of Kelly Taylor and Valerie Malone will undoubtedly have more than a few skeleton’s in her closet. Be it a drug-addicted mother or suicidal father, only time will tell. Stay tuned…
First Look: New GOSSIP GIRL Georgina Sparks
Spotted, Georgina Sparks. Sign #1 she’s up to no good — the giant sunglasses. Never a good sign. [Read more…]
The TV Addict’s TV Guide
Welcome to the first edition of the TV Addict’s TV Guide [original I know!] Or, to be more specific, what the TV Addict will be watching tonight. Or, to be even more accurate, what the TV Addict will be PVR’ing tonight since I’ll actually be spending the night cheering on the Toronto Raptors.
THE BIG BANG THEORY, 8PM CBS
Proving the theory that the rules of high school still apply today, nerds are funny.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, 8:30PM CBS
Marshall questions his recent career move. Which is fitting, because by this time next week, odds are good he’ll be a really big movie star.
BONES, 8PM FOX
As if we are really going to care about some motorcyclist found dead in a mud pit when Booth and Brennan are being forced by Dr. Sweets to go on a double date.
