SUPERNATURAL fans, you know you love me. XoXo, theTVaddict
Now this TV Addict is the first to admit that I’m a total neophyte when it comes to the GHOST WHISPERER. So forgive me for what might come off as somewhat ignorant question. But I’d seriously like to get to the bottom of last week’s momentous fan backlash surrounding the death of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s GHOST WHISPERER hubby David Conrad.
Now correct me if I’m wrong, but is Melinda not the Ghost Whisperer? And as a said communicator with the recently deceased, should she not be able to you know, whisper to her dead husband! In other-words, do anyone of the thousands of disgruntled GW fans want to take a moment to explain to us non-fans what all the fuss is about!
Thanks to a star-making turn by Bradley Cooper and an all-star supporting cast including Nicholas Brendon, Owain Yeoman, John Cho, John Francis Daley, Frank Langella, Jaime King and Bonnie Summerville, it should come as no surprise that KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL ranks among one of this TV Addict’s all-time favorite brilliant-but-cancelled series.
What does come as a surprise is what this TV Addict just discovered thanks to some lazy Friday afternoon procrastination. At a mere $9.99, Amazon.com is practically giving away the series on DVD! Now you too can discover what millions of viewers missed out on when FOX did what they do best by yanking the hilarious albeit ratings anemic series after a mere four episodes. Simply click here to get all 13 episodes and thank me anytime for knocking a few items of your Christmas list!
It’s Friday and if you’re a frequent visitor to theTVaddict.com — you know what that means! Time to post your FAVORITE TV QUOTES OF THE WEEK! New to theTVaddict.com? No idea what I’m talking about? Simply post your favorite quotes of the week in the comments below and check back Sunday to see the winners. Odds are they’ll look something like this.
This week, Daniel [the TV addict] and Ari return after far too long a hiatus (sorry Theo!) to offer up our highly uninformative and moderately entertaining take on the world of television. Don’t hesitate to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment, reviewing us on iTunes! or sending us an email at info@thetvaddict.com or ariel@thetvaddict.com.
[audio:http://cdn.libsyn.com/thetvaddict/thetvaddictpodcast_s02E016.mp3]With the notable exception of Jennifer Aniston’s hilarious turn as Crazy Rachel Claire on 30 ROCK, this TV Addict is sad to report that I’ve once again sullied my self-proclaimed title of ultimate TV Addict by missing out on all of our favorite Thursday night shows. Which is why, I’m once again passing the buck to you all — my far smarter and better looking readers — to post away with your thoughts on last night’s installments of UGLY BETTY, THE OFFICE, 30 ROCK, SUPERNATURAL, GREY’S ANATOMY & LIFE ON MARS.
Ask, and you shall receive.
Yesterday, theTVaddict.com put technology to the test with our Great Twitter Experiment. Our goal? To see if we could land an interview with actor David Blue (UGLY BETTY’s Cliff) with a deceptively simply Twitter message designed to lure him into our web.
Well, mission accomplished!
Not only was David kind enough to drop us an E-mail (“Who knew, he joked, “that Twitter could work so well as a publicst!”), but he was more than happy to take a few moments out of his busy schedule to answer the following five questions. So enjoy, and don’t forget to check him out on tonight’s brand new episode of UGLY BETTY (8PM on ABC, CityTV in Canada)!
The TV Addict: According to IMDB, of your earliest acting credits was as a “Beefy Resident” on a TV Addict personal favorite, VERONICA MARS. How does one get in character to play a “Beefy Resident?”
David Blue: Yeah, gotta love the title of that role, huh? What’s funny, is at the time, I considered it a compliment because I was working out so much. Now that I’ve gained a bit of weight for Betty, looking back at the title “Beefy Resident” just adds to the fatty-factor. “Veronica Mars” was such a well-oiled machine. Regardless of it being shot in San Diego, by the time I got to set they were ready to get me into wardrobe and rehearse the scene. I actually only had time to scarf down a quick meal before I was rushed to set to shoot. The whole process only took an hour-and-a-half, which is pretty much unheard of on-set anywhere else. Maybe I was able to get into the role so well because I was starving from not getting to eat much?! Ha! I WAS kind of bummed though, because I’ve always been a huge Kristen Bell fan, and since they were so well organized at the set, she was getting ready for her scenes while I was shooting mine. I ended up just missing her and never meeting her that day, and was quite disappointed. Luckily, I got to meet her quickly at a benefit we did this year together for the Alzheimer’s Association where we were both singing and dancing. Still, I’d love to sit down and chat with her one of these days for a full conversation!
If your childhood was anything like mine, an inordinate (read: potentially unhealthy) number of Saturday afternoons were spent sprawled in front of the television (Lego in hand) as you reveled in the fun and adventure that was HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS and XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS.
Which is why, it should come as no surprise that when I heard about Sam Raimi’s (SPIDER-MAN) attempt to revitalize the once popular mid-90’s heroic genre (complete with faux British accents) with LEGEND OF THE SEEKER (Click for official site), this TV Addict was to say the least, mildly intrigued.
