Tonight’s TV Addictions: February 12, 2009

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
UGLY BETTY (8PM ABC, CityTV in Canada)
Daniel’s got a new lady. Wilhelmina’s got a new guy. But both are going to face big problems tonight. Meanwhile, Betty’s attempt to put together a fitting tribute for Claire’s 60th birthday party might wind up putting someone else in the spotlight!

GREY’S ANATOMY (9PM ABC, CTV in Canada)
In case you’ve been living under a rock (or busy kevetching about that woman who had eight babies and is now asking people to send her money so she can support them!), there’s a big crossover event tonight revolving around Addison’s brother, Archer (played by guest star Grant Show). We suspect the best part of this will be the chance to watch Meredith bristle as McDreamy works closely with his trampy ex-wife.

GREY’S ANATOMY/PRIVATE PRACTICE (9PM ABC, CTV in Canada)
In case you’ve been living under a rock (or busy kevetching about that woman who had eight babies and is now asking people to send her money so she can support them!), there’s a big crossover event tonight revolving around Addison’s brother, Archer (played by guest star Grant Show). We suspect the best part of this will be the chance to watch Meredith bristle as McDreamy works closely with his trampy ex-wife.

THE OFFICE (9PM NBC)
Michael’s road trip continues. But since he’s become so wildly annoying as to be unfunny, let’s focus on what else is going on. Apparently, Angela’s new cat causes a bit of an uproar, while Dwight and Jim’s attempt at party planning is… well, do we need to even finish that sentence?

30 ROCK (9:30PM NBC, CityTV in Canada)
Oh, Liz Lemon. Will you never learn? The poor girl has decided her first date with Drew (aka Jon Hamm of MAD MEN) should be on Valentine’s Day! Yeah, no pressure there!

NEW & NOTABLE:
SURVIVOR (8PM CBS, Global in Canada)
Who says there are no new twists left for this series to explore? In the 18th cycle’s premiere, the castaways are forced to judge a book by their cover when they have to eliminate someone before they’ve even spoken!

NAACP IMAGE AWARDS (8PM FOX)
Halle Berry and Tyler Perry host this awards show celebrating the contributions of people of color to the arts. Something tells us Chris Brown and Rhiana won’t be on the guest list.

MY NAME IS EARL (8PM NBC)
Holy former soap vixens, Batman! Morgan Fairchild! Joan Van Ark! Who cares what the actual plot is? This is like the FLAMINGO ROAD/KNOTS LANDING crossover of our dreams! (Quick: Which primetime sudser did both woman appear on… and who did they play?)

KATH & KIM (8:30PM NBC)
Maya Rudolph is back as Athena, the spiritual advisor, who offers words of wisdom to Kath as she tries out for a role in “Cats.” But the real fun will probably be over at Phil’s sandwich shop, where Kim has decided to try her hand at employment.

CSI (9PM CBS, 8PM CTV in Canada)
My mom always said fast food would be the death of me. Well, tonight someone winds up dead in a fast-food restaurant… and all the evidence is coated in oil. (Which just makes me want to fry whatever it is and gobble it up!)

ER (10PM NBC, CTV in Canada)
Nope, still not the finale.

ELEVENTH HOUR (10:01PM CBS)
Having never seen this show, I’m don’t quite understand, but I’m sure fans will: In an episode titled “Pinocchio”, someone named Gepetto is believed to have stolen stem cells as part of her cloning efforts.
