Morning Static: JON & KATE, AMERICAN IDOL, SCRUBS & More!
Good News: FOX continues to live up to their namesakes (as in sly as a…) by shifting its reality TV juggernaut AMERICAN IDOL to Wednesdays at 9PM and moving newcomer HUMAN TARGET to 8PM starting on January 27. Bad News: For ABC’s short-lived comedy renaissance and breakout hits MODERN FAMILY and COUGAR TOWN. [Source]
Good News: Fans of SCRUBS and BETTER OFF TED have plenty to look forward to in the new year with ABC announcing plans to double up on episodes of both shows starting January 5th. Bad News: In television speak, “double up” is code for “burning off.” Something that most assuredly does not bode well for the future of both SCRUBS and TED when their network decides to schedule both shows so that they end their respective runs by the end of January. [Source]
Good News: Our national nightmare is finally over now that Jon & Kate’s divorce is final. Bad News: Don’t miss Kate’s take in her first (of many no doubt) post-divorce interview(s) on THE JAY LENO SHOW. No, really. [Video]

First Look: An UGLY BETTY Shocker!
Why does UGLY BETTY’s Amanda (Becki Newton) look as though she has just seen a ghost? Well, truthfully, we’re not entirely sure. But if we were to hazard a guess, it might have something to do with Amanda discovering…
(a) When BETTY returns in the new year, it will do so on an entirely new night (Wednesdays at 10PM).
(b) The January 6th episode entitled “The Passion of the Betty” not only includes a cameo by Betty’s orthodontist Dr. Farkas (Played by MODERN FAMILY’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson), but a guest appearance by Broadway legend Christine Ebersole who shocks everybody with a surprise gallery showing of Matt’s artwork.
(c) The subject matter of Matt’s gallery show, you’ll see what we mean after the jump.
(d) That Troy, after becoming smitten with Marc in Bermuda (aka, his “first”), decided to follow him back to New York. Oh, and we probably should mention that Troy is played by none other than Becki Newton’s real-life brother Matt Newton! See for yourself, after the jump.

TV Quotes of the Decade
Get to know 24’s New Head of CTU Brian Hastings
With the clock ticking closer and closer to the January 17 launch of 24 Season Eight, this TV Addict thought now might be as good a time as any to meet the faces you’ll be spending the next 24 hours with. First up, Brian Hastings, CTU’s new (albeit not-so-much-improved as you’ll soon see) head of CTU played by Mykelti Williamson.
Where you know him from: Well, quite frankly, that depends. Explained Williamson on this TV Addict’s recent visit to the set of 24, “I can tell a little bit about a person by the type of movie they’ve seen me in. Forrest Gump fans are usually more sensitive, kind and like historical stuff. While Waiting to Exhale fans are usually woman. Free Willy means you’re probably a parent and Con Air, well, odds are you’ve been to jail!”
