LOST is back. And to borrow a line from @EWAusielloFiles, “I’ve never been more LOST in my life.” Which is why, we’re gonna leave the heavy-lifting to the experts like — Jeff Jensen, James Poniewozik, Maureen Ryan, Alan Sepinwall, and Nikki Stafford — and ask one very simple question. Who or what is inhabiting Sayid? Why was Richard in chains? What was Desmond doing on Oceanic 815? How did Stewardess Cindy end up in the Temple? Where was Shannon? Is John Locke and the mysterious Man in Black one in the same? Who are these new Others? How does Julie know ‘it worked’? What worked? Why did LOSTerminds Lindelof and Cuse bring back Juliet only to have her die all over again? Where are Walt and Michael? Why is Charlie so intent on offing himself? Why was Jack bleeding on the plane? And what exactly is does the aforementioned MIB mean when he says he wants to get home? After eight months off the air, did LOST live up the hype?

Jimmy Fallon Gets His GLEEK On
The facts are these: With over two whole excruciating months until a brand new episode of GLEE, we’ll take whatever we can get. And if ‘whatever we can get’ is a LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON parody that has the titular host and his staff performing ‘Living on a Prayer’ in an effort to win $375 dollars at Sectionals to buy some cue cards for the show, well, so ‘bee’ it.

Swing and a Miss: We Fix HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
Talk about false advertising! Titled “The Perfect Week,” last night’s instalment of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was, well, imperfect and weak.
Watching Barney try to score with seven women in seven days stripped the character of any development he’d made during his relationship with Robin and only proved that breaking them up was one of the worst calls in the show’s history.
Sticking with the sports metaphors, as much as it pains us to say this, creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays really dropped the ball. Rather than borrow a page from the FRIENDS playbook that saw creators David Crane and Marta Kaufman brilliantly reinvigorate their fledgling series by unexpectedly bringing together Monica and Chandler, Thomas and Bays got cold feet and sent Barney and Robin to the showers. Cold ones at that.
J.J. Abrams Talks LOST and FRINGE End Dates
The TV Addict (left) with J.J. Abrams
While J.J. Abrams may be far removed from the day-to-day operations of LOST, of this he is sure. Setting an end date was the best thing to happen to the show since the arrival of one Benjamin Linus.
“Damon [Lindelof] and Carlton [Cuse] basically insisted on it,” said Abrams of the then unheard of end date that the talented twosome affectionately referred to as ‘Darlton’ negotiated with the top brass at ABC. “Knowing that the show is going to end on its own terms means there will be a sense of inevitability, not a sense of a series reacting to a marketplace or viewership. I’m thrilled about is seeing billboards touting ‘The Final Season’.”
So to are 10 to 15 millions fans, who have anxiously been counting down the return of the most addictive show on television since May’s finale that ended with a quite literal bang. And just what does Abrams think the fan reaction will be to the final season?

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Other Things To Watch Tonight
In case you missed the endless barrage of ads, a little show called LOST begins its final season tonight. And in true ABC style, it kicks off with a glorified clip package being sold as a “new” episode. And while ABC would love for everyone with a television to tune in, the fact is, last season the show averaged just over 11 million weekly viewers. Which means there are a whole lotta people out there who’ll be looking for something other than the most talked-about island since the one inhabited by Gilligan to watch. Since every other outlet on the face of the planet is offering teasers, spoilers, graphs, character breakdowns and predictions about LOST, we thought we’d offer up a few alternative viewing suggestions!
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
IFC airs two classic episodes from 9-10 p.m., featuring a Christmas party at which Maybe and her cousin sing some rather telling karaoke tunes, and Lucille trying to pull a few strings where Buster is concerned.
RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE
Season two of the VH1 reality competition kicks off with contestants pulling a Scarlett O’Hara by creating a look out of drapery. Do we even have to tell you that it’s curtains for the loser? Just to make the proceedings even gayer — if that’s possible — Kathy Griffin chimes in as a judge.
