As I’m sure you know, HAWAII FIVE-0 will be the third go-around with CBS. Would it be fair to say you feel more confident this time around?
Alex O’Loughlin: Yeah, I do. I don’t want to take anything away from the other shows I’ve done because I’ve worked with some incredible people and some wonderful showrunners. But the thing is there’s a reason things either work or don’t work in television. And I don’t know what the answer is. I just sort of keep blundering along to the next thing and hoping. That said, this has — the team behind this, I mean, the two men who are at the helm of this show (Peter and Alex) and the writing staff that we have, it just feels, everyone feels so capable. And having seen what they did with the pilot, there’s just something special about it. So I mean if this one doesn’t go, I’m completely bewildered and have no idea how television works at all.

Don’t Shoot the Messenger, Re: “Young” Hollywood’s Cancer PSA
From: Jessie
To: The TV Addict
Date: August 4th, 2010
Subject: When did 30 become the new 20?
Message Body: Despite my hesitation to knock anything that supports a cause as important as standup2cancer.org, I do feel the inexplicable need to point out an issue I have with this celebrity-filled new PSA promoting this year’s Stand Up to Cancer Fundraiser (airing across 14 networks on September 10, at 8PM). That problem — aside from the terrifying fact that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 woman will get cancer in our lifetime, and my inability to identify more than a handful of the stars making cameos in the video has me thinking I’m clearly not as “on-the-ball” pop-culture wise as I once thought I was — is the following: Should John Heder (33), Kristen Bell (30), Zachary Levi (30) and Donald Faison (36) really be considered “Young” Hollywood anymore? Just sayin’
Advertising Anarchy: Move over Dexter Mogan, there’s a New Killer on Showtime’s Sked!
Inspired by last night’s viewing of the upcoming (and we should mention, highly entertaining) August 16th sixth season premiere of WEEDS, this TV Addict has decided to dedicate our latest instalment of Advertising Anarchy (Also known as our take on how networks might wish to consider promoting some of our favorite new and returning shows) to the show’s unsung hero: 15-year-old Shane Botwin. Who, thanks to his somewhat unorthodox use of a croquet mallet at the end of last season, now finds himself along with his family, on the run from Esteban and the Mexican mafia!

First Look: Matt LeBlanc’s EPISODES
On January 10, the frienaissance continues when Matt LeBlanc follows in his former FRIENDS Courteney Cox (COUGAR TOWN) and Matthew Perry (The upcoming ABC comedy MR. SUNSHINE) footsteps by returning to the small screen in EPISODES.
Only on Showtime, EPISODES tells the surely-to-be-hilarious tale of a British husband-and-wife comedy team (Played by Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Grieg) whose hit UK show about a headmaster of a boy’s boarding school (Played by RIchard Griffiths) is turned into a dumbed-down American sitcom starring LeBlanc (He’s a hockey coach in PUCKS!).
And here with your first look at what we’re fairly confident will be our favorite new show of next year is theTVaddict.com. See for yourself, after the jump.

Blogger Beat Down: Too Much TV *May* Have Gotten to EW Critic Ken Tucker!
The subject of this week’s ‘Blogger Beat Down’ is… Entertainment Weekly TV Critic extraordinaire Ken Tucker, who last week put forth the opinion that hot on the heels of Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres’ exit, it might behoove FOX to cancel AMERICAN IDOL, “since it’s looking more and more as though it’s going to be a hollow shell of its hollow shell.”
