First Look: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Travels to Minnesota
Still reeling from last week’s jaw-dropper of an ending to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER? Anxiously counting down the days until you find out what happens next? Well, we’ve got some bad news for you: Keep counting, because tonight’s episode is a repeat! Fortunately, you’ve got us and we’ve got a sneak peek at next week’s episode, titled “Last Words” that sees the gang travelling to Minnisota where Ted and Barney will stop at nothing to make Marshall laugh while Marshall must confront an old high school bully (Danny Strong of GILMORE GIRLS and BUFFY fame) who terrorized him throughout his youth. More first look photos of which can be found after the jump.

Hating High School? DETROIT 1-8-7 Star Erin Cumming Swears, “It Gets Better.”
Do you count yourselves among the millions of teenagers out there who were disappointed to discover that high school isn’t quite akin to an episode of your favorite television show? Well, it gets better. Just ask DETROIT 1-8-7 star ERIN CUMMINGS, who knows a thing or two about tough times growing up.
“Kids are cruel man, they suck, they really do,” explained the Huntsville Texas native during on a break from shooting on the set of DETROIT 1-8-7. “In my case I had acne like nobody’s business, which wouldn’t have been such a problem except that I was very visible, very Reese Witherspoon in Election. You know, captain of the dance team, editor of the school Yearbook, secretary of the French club. So rather than hang out with me and be my friends, people would just talk trash and make up lies.”
Evidently, you don’t just have to be struggling with your sexuality for high school to completely suck. “I remember coming home crying to my mom that I would never have a boyfriend, bemoaning my big forehead, obnoxiously large lips and all these things that I was really insecure about. And my mom would just sit on the swing with me on the front porch and tell me it’s going to be okay. She’d tell me about all these actresses, like so-and-so who now has an Oscar but never had a boyfriend in high school, or that other actress who was once the ugly duckling, really not that popular and just kept her head looking forward and achieved her goals. So I kinda went, okay, maybe that’s what I have to do, just keep my focus.”
And focus she did. [Read more…]
ABC Awards Early Renewals: BROTHERS & SISTERS, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Not Among Them
We interrupt your regularly scheduled game of “Penny Can” for some truly exciting news (Cul-De-Sac Crew FTW!). This morning, ABC kicked off the network portion of the Television Critics Association Press Tour by officially renewing COUGAR TOWN, MODERN FAMILY, THE MIDDLE, CASTLE, GREY’S ANATOMY and PRIVATE PRACTICE through next season.
Not so lucky were V, BETTER WITH YOU, NO ORDINARY FAMILY, DETROIT 1-8-7, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and BROTHERS & SISTERS. All of which — with the notable exception of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES whose fate is far more contingent on the successful completion of contract negotiations between the studio and the show’s stars including Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria — will more than likely have to wait until May, when their fate will more than likely depend on how ABC’s Fall 2011 pilots panned out. Stay tuned.

Good News, Bad News: WICKED, GLEE & HAWAII FIVE-0
Good News: ABC has given the green light to an eight-hour miniseries based on Wicked. Bad News: Not the musical version (of which Universal already holds the rights to) but rather the Gregory Maquire besteller on which the Broadway musical was based upon. Worse News: Becki Newton, who let’s face it, was born to play “Ga-linda,” is unfortunately unavailable as a result of her commitment to an NBC series that has yet to even be given an airdate. LOVE BITES indeed. [Source]
