IN PLAIN SIGHT Scoop: Stephen Lang Talks Portraying Mary Shannon’s Long-Lost Father
From the very beginning of IN PLAIN SIGHT, the shadow of James Wiley Shannon has cast a pall over U.S. Marshal Mary Shannon’s world. He was the one that got away. Her dead-beat dad that bailed on her and her family when she was 7 years old, and with a long rap sheet of bank robberies under his belt, James Shannon was the essence of “wily”. Mary had long espoused that the minute she ever saw her father again, she was slapping the cuffs on him and handing him over to law enforcement. As was seen in last week’s episode, that is exactly what happened. Jim Shannon finally made his reappearance in Mary’s life, asking for help, and she promptly whipped out the handcuffs. In a recent conference call with press Stephen Lang shared what drew him to the role of Jim Shannon, a career-criminal who returned to reunite with his daughter. [Read more…]
Dispatches From The Couch
Anybody who thinks we live in a “post-racial” society because there’s an African-American man in the Oval Office hasn’t been paying attention to the Trayvon Martin case… or, according to the men filing a class-action lawsuit against ABC, watching THE BACHELOR.
Nathanial Claybrooks and Christopher Johnson’s suit is based on the fact that in the history of THE BACHELOR and its sister series, THE BACHELORETTE, not a single one of the folks asked to choose among a bevy of would-be mates has been a “person of color.” They go on to claim that the show’s “refusal to hire minority applicants” is part of a “conscious attempt to minimize the risk of alienating their majority-white viewership” as well as the advertisers who pony up big bucks for the privilege of pimping their products during the show. SCANDAL! LOST! FRINGE! Henry Ian Cusick Admirably Evades All Of Our Probing Questions!
Having spent the better part of five seasons on LOST, a series known for being shrouded in mystery, actor Henry Ian Cusick knows a thing or two about keeping a secret. Luckily, what Cusick — who can currently be seen in the increasingly addictive Shonda Rhimes sudser playing gladiator in a suit Stephen Finch — lacks in specifics, he more than makes up for by dropping a handful of tantalizing teases in terms of what audiences can expect in the coming weeks from both his role on SCANDAL and his upcoming guest spot on FRINGE. See for yourself after the jump. [Read more…]

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things I’ll Have To Learn To Live With
As much as America clearly loves watching “reality” television, we’re not necessarily all that good at dealing with reality when it comes to our daily lives. But sometimes, you just have to man up and face facts. With that in mind, I present the harsh truths I finally must accept. [Read more…]

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things to Love About THE CLIENT LIST
Okay, I freely admit that Lifetime’s THE CLIENT LIST is trashy. But there’s good trashy (which this is) and bad trashy (like MOB WIVES), or at least that’s how I’m justifying my recent obsession with the Jennifer Love Hewitt vehicle in which she plays Riley, a down-on-her-luck woman who takes a job at a massage parlor which offers “something extra” for those willing to pay. Why do I love it? So glad you asked! [Read more…]
