Always Bet On Blue! ROOKIE BLUE Renewed for a Fifth Season
PRESS RELEASE: Global Television, alongside broadcast partner ABC, jointly announced today the renewal of the summer’s popular drama series, Rookie Blue, for a fifth season.
“We’re delighted to ‘renew the blue’ for fans and continue our partnership with ABC on a fifth season, a major feat for Canadian television,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media. “With addictive plotlines and relatable characters, Rookie Blue has all the hallmarks of a perfect series and has become a cornerstone of the Global Summer schedule.”
Currently, Rookie Blue is the *most watched program in its timeslot since its return on May 23 – with over 1.5 million loyal fans tuning in for the Season 4 debut episode. South of the border on ABC, Rookie Blue ranks #1 Thursday nights in the 10pm hour in Total Viewers this summer to date. Rookie Blue is also broadcast internationally on Universal Networks International’s pay-TV channels. The drama is growing over its prior summer average by 15% in Total Viewers to deliver its most-watched season in 3 years – since Summer 2010.
The fifth season of the series will start development in the fall and will move into production in January 2014. [Read more…]

SHARKNADO 2 Gets the Greenlight From Syfy – Will Take a Bite Out of the Big Apple!
PRESS RELEASE: Which city will be attacked by flying sharks next? New York City! Following the spectacular worldwide social media frenzy around the July 11 premiere of Sharknado, Syfy today announced it will produce – Sharknado 2!
Sharknado 2 (working title), which will again be produced by The Asylum, is scheduled to premiere on Syfy in 2014.

HAVEN Central: Your Guide to the Hit Syfy Series San Diego Comic-Con Festivities
Entertainment One (eOne) is proud to reveal the full schedule of activities and events for the hit Syfy series Haven at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2013. Returning to the world’s largest fan convention for its third consecutive year, Haven is poised to take San Diego by storm with its biggest presence ever at SDCC – all in anticipation of the series’ eagerly-awaited fourth season, which will premiere Friday, September 13th at 10 PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.
Perfectly timed for San Diego Comic-Con, eOne announces the creation of “Haven: After the Storm,” a 16-page comic book that will be exclusively available as a special added-value bonus inside the North American Blu-ray and DVD release of Haven: The Complete Third Season, which arrives in stores September 3. Featuring an original story by Nick Parker from the Haven writing team, the comic picks up immediately following Season 3’s dramatic cliffhanger and provides the perfect bridge to the events surrounding this coming season’s premiere episode. “Haven: After the Storm” features pencils and inks by Steve Ellis (The Only Living Boy, The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning) and cover art by Scott Hampton (Batman, Hellboy). The comic was facilitated by Quixotic Transmedia and edited by Quixotic’s CEO Joe LeFavi (Immortals: Gods and Heroes).

Breaking News: AMERICAN DAD! to Jump to TBS in 2014 Following a Final Broadcast Season on FOX
PRESS RELEASE: TBS has picked up Twentieth Century Fox Television’s animated hit American Dad! as an original series, beginning with the show’s 11th season. Created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, American Dad! will join TBS’s primetime lineup in late 2014. Sister network Adult Swim is set to present encores of each episode after initial airings on TBS. American Dad!, which will begin its 10th season on the FOX television network this fall, is executive-produced by MacFarlane, Barker and Weitzman. TBS has ordered 15 episodes for season 11.
