MMVAs 2014: Behind the Scenes with MAGIC!, Laura Vandervoort and More!
Canadian rocker, Fefe Dobson, unofficially kicked off the 2014 MMVAs Red Carpet special when she let the word “shit” slip out of her mouth. Dobson was announcing the winner for Director of the Year when the hard to pronounce names of the recipients led to her faux pas.
No big deal.
Anyone could have flubbed the names Amos LeBlanc and Ohji Inoue—who won for directing the video Run This by Thugli—especially during a live telecast where there are no do-overs.
The two-hour spectacle had some of the usual suspects performing (Hedley), but the show also included a class of freshman performers like pop/reggae Canadian band MAGIC!, edgy pop queen Lorde and alternative rockers Imagine Dragons. [Read more…]

We Shine the Spotlight on THE THUNDERMANS Star Addison Riecke
I spoke with the adorable and extremely talented star of THE THUNDERMANS, Addison Riecke. I spoke with Riecke about her audition for the role of Nora, her plans for the future, and her wonderful work with numerous charities.
You’re so young and you star on a hit Nickelodeon show. How do you balance everything going on right now?
Addison Riecke: It’s a lot of fun and I love going back to Louisiana and coming back here. (California) We spend a lot of time on set and on the weekends we like to go to the beach because it’s such nice weather. It’s a lot of fun and it’s not that challenging to manage.
Do you think acting is something you’ll want to pursue when you’re older?
I think acting is definitely something I want to do when I’m older. I just started out and am very new to the business; I’m very lucky and blessed that I got a TV show. In the future I would love to work on a feature film maybe. I would definitely want to continue my acting career and see what I could do later in my life.
Your character has some awesome super powers. If you could have super powers in real life which powers would you want?
I think it would be teleportation or shape shifting. Teleportation because you could be anywhere in a second and you wouldn’t have to deal with traffic and all of that kind of stuff, you could just be there in the blink of an eye. Shape shifting would be a lot of fun too because you could be a lot of objects or animals.
Do you have a favorite scene or line from this season?
My favorite line that I’ve done in the whole show is in the first episode where I say, “dance, dance I say.” Because the first time I read the script I thought that was so funny and I loved it and I thought my character was going to be awesome.
How was your audition?
I auditioned for the role in September or 2012. I had been on a few TV show auditions and I thought to myself I’m probably not going to get this, but it’s going to be a lot of fun auditioning. It went on and on and we went to the producer’s callback and the network testing. And I was like this is going really well I didn’t think I would make it this far, and then I booked it and I was so excited.
What can you tell us about tonight’s finale?
The episode is called “Breaking Dad” Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) gets a B from her old teacher and she doesn’t want a B so our dad becomes the teacher and some crazy things happen. With Nora and our mom some squirrels get in our house and we have to deal with that, so it gets really exciting.
You do a lot of work with charities! What can you tell us about those charities?
I raised over $4,000 for the Oklahoma tornado victims last year. In January for my tenth birthday instead of having my friends bring gifts to my party we made valentines gifts and brought them to the children at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. I continue to visit the kids there; on Easter I brought the kids Easter gifts. I think it’s really important to give back, we are all really lucky and it makes me very happy to see all of these kids happy and I’m glad to help any way that I can.
Be sure to follow Addison on instagram at @addisonriecke and on twitter at @AddisonRiecke and watch the finale of THE THUNDERMANS tonight at 8:00 on Nickelodeon.
Victoria Nelli loves TV so much that she is paying $30,000 a year to learn about it in College. When she’s not learning about TV she enjoys writing about her favorite shows, interviewing anyone in the industry that will let her, and ranting about how underrated Parks and Recreation is. She is very much aware of her Netflix addiction, and no she will not be seeking help anytime soon. You can follow her on Twitter @VictoriaNelli

SLEEPY HOLLOW Scoop: Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie and the Creative Team Preview Season 2
September is still three months away and the looooong awaited return of SLEEPY HOLLOW on FOX is slowly ruining our summer. Come on now….Abbie is in purgatory! Ichabod is stuck in a coffin! Ichabod and Katrina’s son Jeremy is actually War, the Second Horseman of Apocalypse! (Whaaaat?!) Way too much went down in Sleepy Hollow to leave us with nothing until September.
Thankfully, TheTVAddict.com got to visit with the executive producers and cast members at the FOX SLEEPY HOLLOW event at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane), Nicole Beharie (Abbie Mills), and EP’s Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mark Goffman and Len Wiseman gave us a few juicy tidbits on what we can expect in season two. Besides the introduction of several new American legends (Benjamin Franklin! Benedict Arnold!), we got the low down on how season two will stack up against season one. We just have one thing to say: strap in! It’s going to be an amazing ride. Check out the videos below.
Oh, we actually have something else to say. The video with Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie may be the cutest thing ever, especially when asked the much-debated Ichabod and Abbie “will they or won’t they” question.
Season two of SLEEPY HOLLOW premieres in September on FOX. [Read more…]
GAME OF THRONES! PENNY DREADFUL! DUCKY DYNASTY! CSI! GENERAL HOSPITAL! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Grandest Epic: With giants and wooly mammoths and lovers dying in one another’s arms, battles don’t get bigger than the one waged on the season’s penultimate GAME OF THRONES episode.
Best Backstory: At last, we know why PENNY DREADFUL’s Vanessa feels so guilty. No wonder the girl has issues!
Least Surprising Development: Realizing that I WANNA MARRY HARRY was a royal failure, Fox flushed the one-joke reality show. In related news, TVLine reports that US & THEM — a remake of the British series GAVIN AND STACEY — will never air. Because, you know, the scripted sitcom wasn’t up to the high standards of the network that brought us… all together now… I WANNA MARRY HARRY.
Most Curmudgeonly Star: Everybody’s favorite grouch-who-isn’t-named-Oscar will star in the Lifetime movie GRUMPY CAT’S WORST CHRISTMAS EVER.
Sweetest Tribute: TV Land will honor the late Ann B. Davis with a 12-hour BRADY BUNCH marathon running from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Call Sam the butcher and order something special to serve on TV trays while watching.
Lamest Defense: DUCK DYNASTY’s executive producer said that gay-bashing star Phil Robertson treats the crew “that has several gay people on it” well. I bet some of his best friends are black, too, huh? [Read more…]
