ARROW and THE FLASH Crossover: More Burning Questions About Hawkman and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) made his debut on the stunning crossover of THE FLASH and ARROW, which leads to this second installment of Burning Questions about the upcoming LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, premiering on January 21.

First, some history on Hawkman.  As discussed in the first installment of Burning Questions about the future LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, Hawkman and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) have gone through many changes since Hawkman first appeared in Flash Comics #1 in 1940.

He has been a member of the Justice Society, the Justice League, Black Lantern Corps, All-Star Squadron, Wingmen of Thanagar and the Suicide Squad, which brings us to these questions…

Question 1:

Will Hawkman’s involvement with the Suicide Squad, headed by Amanda Waller (ARROW’s Cynthia Addai-Robinson) bring him into future conflict with Green Arrow if ties to Waller are revealed?

Question 2:

In the crossover, Vandal Savage’s (Casper Crump) powers were linked to the deaths of the reincarnated Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

In print, Hath-Set is an Egyptian priest who murdered Prince Khufu (Hawkman) and Princess Chay-Ara (Hawkgirl) with a cursed dagger forged from Nth Metal from Hawkman’s home planet of Thanagar.

Their deaths consigned the three to repeated reincarnation cycles that are tied together.

Since Hath-Set is rumored to be a villain on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, if he appears, will his destiny be entwined with Vandal Savage and the Staff of Horus?

Question 3:

Will LEGENDS OF TOMORROW explore the Thangarian roots of Hawkman or tie him only to the Prince Khufu canon?

Question 4:

Since LEGENDS OF TOMORROW will be traveling through time thanks to Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) a Time Master, will Hawkman and Hawkgirl keep their current incarnations as Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders or morph into some of their previous identities, such as Silent Knight (from 5th Century England), Captain John Smith (of Pocahontas fame), Old West gunfighter, Nighthawk, or Pinkerton detective, James Wright, and his respective lovers?

Question 5:

Since Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) ARROW’s Flash-from-Earth-2 also was THE FLASH in The Justice Society, will he remember Earth-2’s Hawkman or vice versa?

Question 6:

Sandra Hawke and her relationship with Oliver has resurfaced, and a little boy was shown, presumably their son.  If that little boy is their son, Connor, how will the shows handle the age difference between a young child and the older Conner Hawke who eventually becomes Red Arrow?

Warner Bros. reportedly has confirmed a LEGENDS OF TOMORROW appearance by Connor, but not as Green Arrow’s son. Maybe ask Rip Hunter if he has something to do with it?

Question 7:

The ARROW/FLASH relationship from SMALLVILLE, animation and print with Oliver being the sterner “older brother” type and Barry being the “showoff” little brother has been seen in print and animation.  Their propinquity has been carried forward with great comedic timing to the FLARROW-verse.

Will the Justice League dynamic make its way to the LEGENDS OF TOMORROW where Hawkman is friends with The Atom, but frequently is annoyed by Green Arrow, make its way into this incarnation?

The epic crossover of THE FLASH and ARROW continues with “Legends of Yesterday” tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
