Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things You Didn’t Know About PRETTY LITTLE LIARS Star Ashley Benson
She’s still on the show.
For the seven or eight fans who spent the better part of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS’ hiatus fretting over whether or not Hanna survived last season’s not-so-fatal car crash that capped off the first half of ABC Family’s surprise summer smash, worry not. “The episode starts off with my character Hanna in the hospital after she’s gotten run over, and she wakes up and she’s still shaken after the whole thing and she doesn’t really remember what happened,” explained Ashely Benson. “But the pretty insane thing is that she remembers who she saw by the car and in the woods and who she thinks is ‘A.’ So, she tells the girls and it goes from there.”
She had no idea PRETTY LITTLE LIARS was going to be a hit.
Despite an already built in audience from the popular book series of the same name, and giddy network executives who had already proclaimed the show a success, Benson wasn’t nearly as confident. “Me and the other girls hoped for it, but you never know,” revealed the cautiously optimist actress. “So, we filmed the pilot and we waited to hear if it got picked up and it did, and once it started airing things just went out of control! It has been pretty amazing to be part of something that actually goes above and beyond everybody’s expectations, unreal really.”

Review: GREEK Season 4 (The Final Chapter)
By: Aleks Chan
I’ve kept up a long, slobbery love affair with the fantastically imperfect ABC Family dramedy GREEK. This modest little show about the relationships of students in the Greek system at the fictional Cypress-Rhodes University is comprised of pieces both unremarkable and occasionally brilliant – I’ve found myself cheering along as often as I’ve recoiled in frustration. The show kicks off its 10-episode final season tonight, and after a tonally bizarre premiere (one that I’m almost tempted to suggest you skip altogether), a promising endnote is in the making.
And like someone who paid to see either of the Sex and the City movies while in theaters (especially the second one), I am overcome by an unwarranted need to explain myself: God help me, if this show doesn’t come across as incriminating as hell. That its first season print campaign featured the principal cast swimming in a giant red plastic cup didn’t help. But I’m glad GREEK has played out the way it has, itself an almost transcendent accomplishment: its boldface stab at crafting a smart bildungsroman inside those claustrophobic, beer and puke-stained frat houses and sorority palaces is at the very least venerable. While it has never sufficiently made Pan-Hellenic internal politics interesting, it has unspooled some well-done relationships that have maturely, humorously, and sincerely found legitimate, reasonable stakes during a time in young adults’ lives difficult to dramatize.

Our Top 10 TV Shows of 2010
While they may not have been the year’s most critically acclaimed or the country’s most popular, each the following shows made this TV Addict’s Top 10 of ’10 for the simple reason that each week, they left us jonesing another fix. You know those people who say “less is more?” Yeah, they’re totally wrong. As the following programs prove, too much is never enough.
Our 2010 TV Year in Review (Part V)
Best New Comedy: How can we not give this to RAISING HOPE? Any show that has a grandma say of the family’s new addition, “Maybe your baby is just a bitch?” is okay in our book.
Worst Trend: Fewer episodes, more reruns.
Stunt Casting Gone Awry, Daytime Division: Yes, yes, GENERAL HOSPITAL. We saw James Franco the first time he brought his freak show to Port Charles. And the second. Now, you’re telling us there’s a third and a fourth visit slated? How’s that working out for you ratings wise?
Stunt Casting Gone Awry, Primetime Division: Hey, GLEE, how about you stop featuring a new big-name guest star each week and instead focus on stories for the characters we actually care about.
Best Mid-Season Cliffhanger: Explosions and cylons and suicides, oh my! CAPRICA gave us the most exciting finale since the Borg kidnapped Captain Jean-Luc Picard and ended with the ominous line, “I am Locutus of Borg.”
