Good News, Bad News: MELISSA & JOEY, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS & Justin Bieber
Good News: Pulling out all the stops for what will surely be a phenomenal final season, DirecTV has just released an incredibly hot promo in anticipation of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS October 27th premiere. Bad News: Aside from the fact we’re unable to subscribe to DirecTV and thus won’t be getting the opportunity to catch the final season until next summer, when it comes to our favorite TV shows (see: EVERWOOD, GROSSE POINTE, JACK & BOBBY to name a few) we have serious issues about letting go.

Hulu Plus Headed to Roku and TiVo
For those who’ve been on another planet, Hulu has been serving up a wide variety of TV programming online, streamed straight to your eyeballs. Even brand new programs that aired yesterday are often available for a while, allowing you to catch programs that you missed, forgot to record, etc. All for free, too, provided you can handle some commercial interruptions.
Not long ago, the evil masterminds at Hulu created a paid subscription tier called Hulu Plus, where for $10 you can get access to a larger back catalog of TV shows. You still have to watch commercials though. Sounds great for them; make me pay money to watch shows with commercials, just like the channels I used to pay for on cable. Yet, Hulu has been notoriously against serving up content on the one device people really want to use to watch TV shows – the TV. Sure, you can hook up a computer to your TV and watch it in a web browser or use Boxee (with a little effort), or you could use a PS3 on the PSN network since July. That’s it.

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with SMALLVILLE Star Keri Lynn Pratt
As regular readers of theTVaddict.com know all too well, there are two topics we never tire of talking about: The CW’s unceremonious cancellation of EVERWOOD (Yup, still bitter) and the demise of JACK & BOBBY (Ditto!). So when our good friends at the Network offered up the opportunity to interview Keri Lynn Pratt (RIP Missy Belknap), who will be dropping by tonight’s SMALLVILLE in the first of two planned guest appearances as Clark’s new partner Cat Grant, we jumped at the chance. Here’s what she had to say about what it’s like being one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses, her latest role on SMALLVILLE and the most unexpected FAMILY GUY guest appearance ever.
Between JACK & BOBBY, BROTHERS & SISTERS and VERONICA MARS you’ve guest starred in more of our favorite shows that we can count. What’s it like being a serial guest star in Hollywood and is it a challenge continuously having to jump from set to set?
Keri Lynn Pratt: [Laughs] I think there was a year that I did 11 guest starring roles. And you know, sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it’s not. Really, it’s like being a kid that moves around a lot, you kind of learn how to adapt quickly and nine out of ten times everyone’s really welcoming and great. SMALLVILLE was quite an exception. They were all just so welcoming and great to work with and it probably was one of my best experiences as an actor.
Blogger Beat Down: AOL TV says LONE STAR’s demise a “symptom of everything that has gone wrong at the broadcast networks”
The subject of this week’s ‘Blogger Beat Down’ is… AOLTV’s Mo Ryan, who in a post earlier in the week asserted that FOX’s swift cancellation of LONE STAR is a “symptom of everything that has gone wrong at the broadcast networks.”
Our Take: As much as it pains us to say this to the usually spot-on Mo Ryan fresh off her recent inclusion to the Peabody Awards Board (Seriously folks, if you’re not familiar with her work, she’s kind of a big deal), blaming the “broadcast networks” for the cancellation of LONE STAR is the TV critic equivalent of spinning-off LAW & ORDER yet again (Read: the easy way out!) If anything, FOX’s attempt to think differently by offering up a procedural-free hour-long drama starring a morally dubious protagonist should be applauded. It was a risky gamble that failed to pay off, big time.
