The subject of theTVaddict.com’s inaugural BLOGGER BEAT DOWN is… TV.com writer Richard Lawson, who in a recent editorial claims that “MODERN FAMILY’s kid characters almost ruin the show.” How much do they bother the scribe? “To be blunt,” he admits, “I just really hate the kids.”

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: TV Plots That We’re Not Buyin’

October 6, 2009 By theTVaddict 9 Comments

mr_shuster

When it comes to our favorite fictional serial killer, suspension of disbelief is pretty much par for the course. Which is why we’ve gladly put aside our question as to how on earth Dexter Morgan’s employer, the Miami PD has yet to clue into his extra-curricular activities in lieu of a far bigger mystery: Just how on earth does a blood splatter analyst afford to support a wife and three kids in a spacious suburban alcove, plus an oceanfront condo and a boat on his public servant salary?

In the world of STARGATE UNIVERSE, mankind is capable of harnessing the power of a Stargate to travel millions of miles away, transport themselves to-and-from ships at will, and protect themselves with state of the art weaponry. Yet David Blue’s Eli Wallace is still using an iPhone.

Be it father William or brother Tommy, the Walker family hasn’t exactly had the most stellar track record when it comes to family members working in the family business. Yet Uncle Saul and Holly waited all of three-minutes to hand over the financials and entrust the future of Ojai Foods to very-sketchy illegitimate step-son Ryan.

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Tantalizing TV Teases

September 30, 2009 By theTVaddict 2 Comments

1. The fourth season of DEXTER is gonna be killer… particularly for one unlucky actor (or actress) in the opening credits.

2. Thursday’s season premiere of that other Shonda Rhimes medical drama opens with a not-so private funeral.

3. Get ready to Dial M… for Mode, when a loved one of a Mode employee finds themselves under investigation for murder.

Eliza Dushku Talks DOLLHOUSE Season 2

September 25, 2009 By theTVaddict 5 Comments

“It’s like DEXTER Freaky.”

Is how actress Eliza Dushku describes an upcoming episode of DOLLHOUSE that revolves around how Dichen Lachman’s Sierra found herself employed by the mysterious Rossum Corporation.

“The episode just blew my mind,” revealed a visibly excited Dushku during a recent one-on-one with the TV Addict. “Dichen’s introduction to the Dollhouse is so dark and layered.”

Two words which coincidentally also sum up the second season of DOLLHOUSE, which returns tonight on FOX at 9PM (Global TV in Canada) after a rocky first season that culminated in a phenomenal string of episode, including the unaired “Epitaph One” (only available on DVD and iTunes)

Just don’t ask Eliza Dushku what’s going to happen next.

Review: DURHAM COUNTY

September 7, 2009 By theTVaddict 2 Comments

durham_countyBy: Aleks Chan

Like many a crime procedural, the opening scene is of a discernibly older man, with two much younger girls (extra creepy points if they’re in their school uniforms) in a secluded forest. If our basic detective skills cultivated by cable crime fighters (and DATELINE) have taught us anything, the girls won’t be turning in their homework the next day. But the sadistic way the girls meet their fate is gruesome – you’re never this uncomfortable when you watch CSI.

Through the branches and wood is a focused, studying eye – a witness to a double murder, the trembling figure leaves one of the girls’ plead for help unanswered. Before the bodies are discovered and an investigation is launched, the body of a schoolteacher washes up bludgeoned in the same fashion. That wandering eye was Ray Prager’s (Justin Louis), and when he’s not screaming at his wife or belittling his son, he’s moonlighting as a serial killer.

A Comic Con Video Round Up

July 27, 2009 By theTVaddict 2 Comments

Thanks to wonder that is YouTube, the best seat in the house for Comic Con 2009 was not front row center in the hallowed hall that is ‘H.’ Rather, it was in front of your computer, thanks to some friendly neighborhood super-fans who were kind enough to share the magic that is the ‘Con’ by uploading videos of some of your favorite panels. Many of which we’ve linked to after the jump.

Comic Con 2009: A TV Addict’s Guide

July 22, 2009 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Ladies and Gentleman start your engines! Because in T-Minus 12 hours, your very own TV Addict — if all goes according to plan thank-you-very-much-Air-Canada — will be touching down in beautiful and sunny San Diego for Comic Con 2009.

Yup, it’s that time again. Those magical four days in July when this TV Addict braves the Twihards, Trekkies and TORCHWOOD fans [Oh My!] to bring you live coverage of all of your favorite shows (Unless of course you favorite show is LOST, in which case let me apologize in advance because Hall H simply ain’t gonna happen.) That said, I do expect to be interviewing quite a few of your favorite small screen stars, in addition to attending some pretty exciting parties and panels. The latter of which I’ve highlighted in yellow after the jump.

As is always the case, be sure you’re following the TV Addict on twitter for the latest up-to-date-news (Borderline obnoxious tweets that will have you wishing you were in San Diego come free-of-charge!) Oh, and if the site isn’t updated by 5PM Thursday, send help — as the odds are fairly good a stampede of overzealous Twilight fans trampled me while attempting to chase after Robert Pattinson’s limo.
