Channel Surfing: DEXTER, TERRA NOVA & HART OF DIXIE

November 29, 2011 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Still undecided as to whether or not DEXTER is in the midst of its weakest season to date? Perhaps these three simple signs will help confirm your suspicions: 1) It took us until Tuesday morning to watch Sunday’s episode, which in previous years was practically unheard of. 2) Debra Morgan, once the show’s most grating character has quietly evolved into the series’ most interesting one as she begins her journey that we can only hope ends with her discovering the truth about her brother’s extra curricular activities . And 3) Most alarming of all was the fact that we — among with many others — completely called Sunday’s twist — you know, the traditional end-of-season-jaw-dropper that the show had spent eight episodes building towards — over a month ago. And speaking of twists we saw coming a mile away… [Read more…]

Killer News: Showtime Renews DEXTER For 2 More Season

November 18, 2011 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

This just in: It appears that DEXTER fans will have to wait a wee bit longer for Deb to clue into her brother’s extra-curricular activities. Or at least that is our takeaway from the breaking news that has Showtime announcing that America’s favorite serial killer has been re-upped for not just one, but rather two more seasons consisting of 12 episodes each. Ask the Addict: Spoilers for CASTLE, HOMELAND, DEXTER, THE CLOSER, HAVEN & More!

November 17, 2011 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

With Monday’s episode of CASTLE entitled “Kill Shot,” I’m only slightly concerned that one of my favorite members of the NYPD will find themselves on the wrong end of a sniper’s sight. Any chance I might trouble you to alleviate my worries? — Kelly
The TV Addict: Considering we would hate to be the one to spoil the fun, not to mention the intense pulse-pounding excitement that you’ll undoubtedly experience while watching a city in chaos when a sniper goes on a terrifying killing spree, there is absolutely zero chance that we will alleviate your fear! That said, what we will only be too happy to do is fill you in on a little secret: The insanity surrounding Monday’s fantastic episode of CASTLE won’t be for naught, particularly for those of you who have been patiently waiting for a certain member of the NYPD to see the light.

Anything you can tease for this CASTLE crazed fan with regards to Monday’s episode? — Madison
The TV Addict: While Beckett’s increased moments of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) will most definitely take center stage in an episode that has “For Your Emmy Consideration” written all over it in terms of Stana Katic’s stellar performance, fans of both Alexis (Molly Quinn) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) will be pleased to discover that the talented twosome play an integral role in the hunt for the killer.

Love me some Mark Pellegrino. Any chance we’ll be seeing more of him on THE CLOSER? — Alison
The TV Addict: According to CLOSER producer James Duff, who we recently had the pleasure of interviewing, the in-demand actor will be appearing as the deliciously scene-stealing Gavin in at least two of the upcoming episodes starting November 28th. What’s more, you’re not the only one who loves them some Pellegrino, as Duff let it slip that they are feverishly working to find the time between the actor’s 423 (approx.) other projects to bring him back next summer as well! Ask the Addict: Spoilers for THE SECRET CIRCLE, DEXTER, ONCE UPON A TIME, GREY’S ANATOMY & More!

November 10, 2011 By theTVaddict 5 Comments

Rumor has it that tonight’s episode of GREY’S ANATOMY is one of those classic sob-fests. True or false? — Amy
The TV Addict: Short Answer: True. Long Answer: Based on tonight’s tear-jerker of a mid-season finale that features a very unexpected outcome to Meredith and Derek’s adoption woes, multiple character deaths, not to mention an ending that will leave fans on the edge of their seat as they ask themselves what on earth is going to happen next, our working theory is that Showrunner Shonda Rhimes must be some sort of secret investor in a Kleenex company. Which is our not so subtle way of saying that there will be tears… for a variety of different characters.

Having really enjoyed the way in which you broke the news last week that “Belle” would be dropping by ONCE UPON A TIME I’m hoping I might implore you to include some sort of similar tease in this week’s column? — Monica
The TV Addict: Flattery will get you everywhere, including a yes to your request… assuming of course you can decipher the following tease that has the next batch of Fairytale characters scheduled to drop by Storybrooke Maine involved with what many might consider the precursor to Willy Wonka. Read into that what you will. [Read more…]

Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, DEXTER, ONCE UPON A TIME, THE BIG BANG THEORY & More!

November 3, 2011 By theTVaddict 3 Comments

Absolutely loved Kristin Bauer’s guest appearance as Maleficent on Sunday’s ONCE UPON A TIME. That being said, any word on what other iconic Disney character fans might expect to see? — Amy
The TV Addict: Forget words, we’ve got lyrics! And if you can place where the following ones come from you’ll have a pretty good idea as to what iconic fairytale character may-or-may-not be soon popping up on ONCE UPON A TIME next: “Little town, it’s a quiet village…” Oh, and on the off chance you were able to crack our not-so-challenging code, feel free to head to the comments below and share your casting suggestions. At the top of our list would be MODERN FAMILY’s Sarah Hyland!

Is Mos Def’s Brother Sam really dead on DEXTER? — Dave
The TV Addict: Much like Brother Sam, on the subject of his fate, we’re a man of few words. Except to say that what does-or-doesn’t-happen to Brother Sam has some seriously spooky implications for poor Dexter. In fact, one might even go as far to say that last Sunday’s shooting sets into motion a horrific story that will haunt America’s favorite serial killer for episodes to come. Need we say more? We hope not, because if you have failed to pick up on our not-so-subtle nod to AMERICAN HORROR STORY yet, it’s possible you’ve been watching a little too much television.

Any idea as to the sex of Booth and Brennan’s baby on BONES? — Michelle
The TV Addict: Ummm… yes. But since we sure as heck aren’t going to be the ones to risk the wrath of Hart “Crazy Canuck” Hanson by spoiling the surprise, we’ll simply say that the manner in which the sex is revealed in the show’s second episode back will come as just as a surprise to Booth. Ask the Addict: Spoilers for DEXTER, THE BIG BANG THEORY, HART OF DIXIE, DEGRASSI, TRUE BLOOD & More!

October 27, 2011 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Please tell me this somewhat lacklustre season of DEXTER gets better? — Richie
The TV Addict: If by better you mean more bloody, you’ll certainly enjoy the unexpected shooting of one of this season’s special guest stars that occurs sometime during the next two episodes. And if you don’t, well, there’s always the final scene one week from this Sunday that — as much as we hate to employ such an overused term of “game changer” — really will turn Dexter’s world completely and 100% upside-down.

Any chance Penny might get a little love this season? As much as I enjoy THE BIG BANG THEORY, I’ve always found it somewhat illogical that the best Kaley Cuoco’s character can do is Leonard? — Dylan
The TV Addict: As someone who has also spent the better part of THE BIG BANG THEORY’s four seasons scratching our head over Penny’s lack of love life, you’ll be happy to know that an upcoming episode of the hit CBS series will finally see Penny meet someone out of her immediate nerdiverse. Cue Kenny, an aspiring screenwriter whom she meets in a coffee shop while helping Leonard get over his break up with… oops, we may have said too much!

Ever since you posted your fantastic recount of your time on the set of THE GOOD WIFE it’s been driving me crazy, what was Alicia and Jackie fighting about this time? — Sam
The TV Addict: Since we wouldn’t dare risk angering our good friends at CBS publicity by divulging the specifics of Alicia and Jackie’s latest head-to-head, we’ll simply say that the point of contention revolves around the Florrick offspring and the current controversy surrounding the status of their respective relationships. Channel Surfing: DEXTER, THE GOOD WIFE, ONCE UPON A TIME & More!

October 24, 2011 By theTVaddict 5 Comments

As someone who has always had a special affinity for DEXTER since the very beginning (Note: Not as creepy as it sounds, we promise!) we’re disappointed to admit that when it comes to summing up our feelings for the show’s much-anticipated current season, the best we can come up with is ‘conflicted.’ On the one hand, four weeks in, the show’s writing team deserves credit for managing to keep this aging series interesting by promoting Deb to Lieutenant, correcting last season’s wrong that was Laguerta and Angel’s marriage, and introducing a truly terrifying team of baddies (Edward James Olmos’ Professor Gellar and Colin Hanks’ Travis Marshall) into the mix. On the other — something that we can’t quite put our finger on — is missing. Whether it’s a symptom of the increasingly predictable nature of the show (Does anyone else have a feeling that Professor Gellar is to Travis what Harry is to Dexter?) or the fact that the astounding success of the series has all but eviscerated the once spine-tingling stakes for America’s favorite serial killer seeing as though Showtime isn’t about to put a knife in the back of its most popular property anytime soon, the simple fact of the matter is that this once must-watch-for-fear-of-being-spoiled-show has quietly devolved into yeah, we’ll-watch-it-when-we-get-around-to-it. #sad [Read more…]
