
Now that the Winter 2013 Television Critic’s Association Press Tour is finally over, it seemed like a good time to recall some of the choice moments over the 14-day star-studded event. Since it would be nearly impossible to recount all the stand-out moments and all the cool shows upcoming this year, we have selected only a few to showcase.
The Kiss
Nothing was more buzzed about than the unexpected kiss between stars Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy at the Fox panel for THE FOLLOWING. It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but truly you had to have been there for the impact of that memorable moment to be felt. The ease with Kevin Back just casually leaned over and planted a kiss on his co-star was a testament to the strong bond between them. Viewers may be buzzing about the underlying sexual energy between their characters on screen in THE FOLLOWING, but that kiss was a pure delight for those who got to see it in person. Mid-Season TV Preview: BEING HUMAN Returns for its Dark and Deadly 3rd Season on Syfy

Wherever there things that go bump in the night, there are certain to be vampires, werewolves and a ghost or two, and in the third season of Syfy’s BEING HUMAN, everyone’s favorite supernatural trio turned quartet are back for more adventures from the underworld. When last seen at the end of the second season, Sally had sacrificed herself to save those stuck in limbo and Aidan had been locked and buried in a coffin, leaving the fate of Nora and Josh unknown as a shot rang out and the screen faded to black.
But (SPOILER ALERT!) from a few teasers from the cast, we find out that Josh and Nora have been living the good life wondering where in the world their friends have gotten to in the eighteen months have passed since that fateful night. Did The CW Make the Grade? We Hand Out its Mid-Season Report Card
The Good: ARROW, the highly touted reboot of the iconic DC hero starring Toronto’s own Stephen Amell made its mark. Both creatively and ratings wise it not only delivered on its promise of being the anti-SMALLVILLE (Read: Watchable), but continues to illustrate The CW’s viability as a network across this increasingly crowded prime-time television landscape. Also falling under the category of “good,” CW President Mark Pedowitz’s move to delay his Network’s premieres until October in an effort to minimize reruns and the blitzkrieg that is the flurry of Fall competition paid off with solid numbers for returning favorites such as THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and SUPERNATURAL. And while solid numbers may not quite describe HART OF DIXIE and NIKITA’s second and third season respectively, solid, nay, delightful storytelling does. [Read more…]
