As if he were not already king of nerds on television, comedian Chris Hardwick launches his latest talk show THE NERDIST on BBC America on Saturday, March 30th.  Having established his prowess in the field with his wildly successful television series THE TALKING DEAD, which follows new episodes of AMC’s series THE WALKING DEAD, Chris melds that synergy with his new series THE NERDIST.  Long time Whovians already know of Chris’ passionate love affair with the sci-fi series DOCTOR WHO, and capitalizing and using his love for DOCTOR WHO served as a launch pad for his original podcasts for The Nerdist; and as a result, for diehards, Chris has already been a long-time fixture in the Who-verse.  In a recent press conference call Chris talked about his new television series THE NERDIST and how it will differ from his former podcast and yet retain its heart and soul in the new format. PSYCH Celebrates 100 Episodes: Christopher Lloyd, Martin Mull and Lesley Ann Warren Tease Their Iconic “Clue” Reunion

Tapping into a rich comedy vein in a fantastically hilarious homage to the film “Clue,” the USA Network series PSYCH reunites three of the stars of “Clue” for PSYCH’s 100th episode, aptly entitled “100 Clues.”  One hundred episodes of Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and Burton Guster (Dule Hill) using their psych-out abilities to aid the local Santa Barbara police department has taken fans on a merry ride. 
 
This week’s very special episode offers one of the fun concepts from the film “Clue” by allowing fans to vote for 3-alternative endings, and votes may be cast on the Psych.USAnetwork.com website and via twitter. 
 
During the PSYCH 100th episode celebration on set, special guest stars Christopher Lloyd, Martin Mull and Lesley Anne Warren shared how they came to be a part of this momentous episode and reflected back on the zany fun they had working on the film “Clue.” [Read more…]

In the NBC drama series REVOLUTION, Elizabeth Mitchell plays the bad-ass Rachel Matheson, who 15 years ago walked way from her family. What happened to Rachel after that, we are dying to find out. We only know that the last 4 years have been as a prisoner of Col. Sebastian Monroe (David Lyons) as he has tried to coerce her into turning the power back on. Alas, after he succeed in killing her husband and abducting her son, Rachel was finally forced to capitulate to Monroe’s diabolical plan. Yet as we have seen, never get between a mother and her children for Rachel will do literally anything to protect them. At the WB Mondo International Press Tour, star Elizabeth Mitchell talked about the complex relationships of Rachel, Monroe and Miles (Billy Burke) in REVOLUTION and how Rachel compares to her former bad-ass role on LOST. Sebastian Monroe (David Lyons) in conquering the last remnants of the free world after the power went out 15 years before. Television Nirvana: 5 of Television’s Hottest New Shows

Each year there are just a handful of television shows that take us by complete surprise and knock our socks off; yet because they are not usually launched on big network, it is nearly impossible to see them coming.  It then becomes a heady feeling of “love at first sight” – all the more treasured because we were not simply seduced by glamorous posters or sizzling preview trailers.  Instead, these are shows that were intriguing on concept and deemed worthy of a peek; and once seen, we know that we had fallen head-over-heels in love
 
Each Fall, avid TV viewers anxiously await the debut of the traditional Fall season of television shows that launch and find places on our viewing lists.  But with the ever-expanding market of cable and off-cable networks launching television shows all year round and offering some of the best shows on television, it has become intriguing to see what new crop of shows will slip under the radar and capture our hearts.
 
While 2013 is by no means anywhere near close to being over, so far there have been five new break-out series that deserve mention and honors for being such “fall in love” shows: ORPHAN BLACK (BBC America), BANSHEE (Cinemax), THE AMERICANS (FX), CONTINUUM (Syfy), and ROGUE (DirecTV).
 
I can just hear you scratching your head right now as you wonder where on earth I came up with these shows.  Most are shows you will not have heard of, and if you have heard of them, it was perhaps just in passing.  These are not shows that the average viewer even knows exist.  But they should.
 
These are the shows that will make you glad you are a TV addict; for trust me, if you are reading this article, you are an “addict” and television viewers who read about TV shows do not take their obsession lightly.
