We GLEE-cap last night’s High’s and Low’s From “Home”
High Note: Unlike last week’s jam-packed Madonna-thon, last night’s toned down instalment of GLEE was a welcome return to our favorite type of episode: One that features story, song and memorable moments for New Directions members that aren’t named Rachel Berry.
Low Note: For the first time in GLEE’s short history, we did not immediately click on over to iTunes to purchase songs following the episode.
High Note: Despite a really scary vein that pulsated from her forehead when she hit those high notes few humans can reach, it’s hard to argue against another special guest appearance by Kristin Chenoweth as part-time mistress, full-time roller-skating rink owner April Rhodes.
Low Note: Aside from the fact that we find it hard to believe roller-skating rinks still exist (As Santana put it, “Weren’t those outlawed in like 1981 for being totally lame.”) we can’t help but feel that a little Chenoweth goes a long way, and three fairly long songs, while no doubt technically brilliant and emotionally resonate, may have been a little too much.

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, PARENTHOOD Showrunner Jason Katims
As much as fans have hated having to say goodbye to many of our favorite Dillon Panthers, would it be safe to say that the choice to have some of your original cast members graduate has resulted in some of the show’s strongest episodes to date?
Jason Katims: I think that in the third season we kind of made this decision that we were going to let go of some of our cast members. It was a really hard decision but we realized it wasn’t going to be good to have them hang around and be window dressing. So for Gaius Charles and Scott Porter we wrote these storylines for them that wound up being incredibly powerful. So when it came to the fourth season I felt — as sad as it is to do this because I love every member of the cast and feel lucky to work with them — I also knew that I could say with conviction that we were going to be able to tell a great story this way because it really does energize the writers into doing something good, knowing that they have to tell a big story about someone [Zach Gilford, Minka Kelly] in four episodes.
For those of us who do not subscribe to DirecTV, when we last left FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, Coach Taylor was forced to move from the comfy confines of Dillon High to East Dillon High. Where you at all apprehensive about such a big change in scenery for our favorite coach/father?
No. The move to a new school, to a new population and to a new part of town has really reinvigorated the show. We have four new incredible series regular cast members (Matt Lauria, Michael B. Jordan, Jurnee Smollett and Madison Burge) who have just stepped up and are all wonderful and at least to my mind are different then the characters that have come before it which just makes things very exciting and helps to keep having the show feel like its a retread and we’re revisiting the same stuff.
Good News, Bad News: GLEE, BROTHERS & SISTERS & HUNG
Good News: The powers that Glee be are promoting scene-stealers Brittany and Santana to full-fledged series regulars next season. Bad News: For the already screen-challenged Artie, Tina and Mike (Or as Sue Sylvester might put it, “Wheels, Asian and Other Asian.”) [Source]
Good News: For Gilles Marini (Luc), who according to Michael Ausiello will be sticking around for BROTHERS & SISTER fifth season. Bad News: For Frank Luke Grimes (Ryan), who is getting the ax to make room in the budget. [Source]

Ask the Addict: Spoilers on CASTLE, GOSSIP GIRL, BONES, PRIVATE PRACTICE & More!
Any scoop on what 90210 has planned for their season finale? — Amber
The TV Addict: Although probably not done intentionally, 90210’s May 18 season finale will go out with a nod to original series star Emily Valentine when things really start to heat up on Liam’s boat after a certain somebody who-shall-not-be-named discovers that Annie and Liam are a little too dedicated to practicing “safe boating” (Think: Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation!)
Who is getting married on the BONES season finale? — Michael
The TV Addict: Considering the May 20 season finale will include an unexpected visit from Angela’s father, we’re going to go out on the first of many limbs today and guess that Angela and Hodgins will be the ones walking down the aisle. Thoughts?
