With tonight’s series premiere of DOLLHOUSE, the return of TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and of course BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, this TV Addict is not only officially proclaiming that Friday is the new Thursday, but also the most exciting, suspenseful and emotional night of television of the week. Agree, disagree, post away.

Tonight’s TV Addictions: February 12, 2009
WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
UGLY BETTY (8PM ABC, CityTV in Canada)
Daniel’s got a new lady. Wilhelmina’s got a new guy. But both are going to face big problems tonight. Meanwhile, Betty’s attempt to put together a fitting tribute for Claire’s 60th birthday party might wind up putting someone else in the spotlight!
GREY’S ANATOMY (9PM ABC, CTV in Canada)
In case you’ve been living under a rock (or busy kevetching about that woman who had eight babies and is now asking people to send her money so she can support them!), there’s a big crossover event tonight revolving around Addison’s brother, Archer (played by guest star Grant Show). We suspect the best part of this will be the chance to watch Meredith bristle as McDreamy works closely with his trampy ex-wife.
GREY’S ANATOMY/PRIVATE PRACTICE (9PM ABC, CTV in Canada)

THE OFFICE (9PM NBC)
Michael’s road trip continues. But since he’s become so wildly annoying as to be unfunny, let’s focus on what else is going on. Apparently, Angela’s new cat causes a bit of an uproar, while Dwight and Jim’s attempt at party planning is… well, do we need to even finish that sentence?
30 ROCK (9:30PM NBC, CityTV in Canada)
Oh, Liz Lemon. Will you never learn? The poor girl has decided her first date with Drew (aka Jon Hamm of MAD MEN) should be on Valentine’s Day! Yeah, no pressure there!
A Conversation with TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES Star Richard T. Jones
Richard T. Jones and the TV Addict in Los Angeles, January 2009
Let me first start off by saying how cool it is for you to take the time. Yourself and Thomas [Dekker] were not scheduled to drop by and I think it’s great to see how willing you all are to support the show.
Richard T. Jones: Well we love the show. I didn’t know Thomas was going to be here either. It’s good to see him.
Especially since you almost never get to see any of the Connors on screen. What happened to your plan [from when we last talked] for an Agent Ellison/Sarah Connor hook up?
I know right. We got to start something so fans start clamoring for Sarah and James to get together.
Because James and Catherine Weaver doesn’t exactly have the same ring to it, right? She’d probably try and kill you in your sleep.
Exactly! She’s a robot, she’s a Terminator. Even though it would probably be…. anyway.
What’s Wrong With… DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES?
In this continuing series, we take a closer look at what’s ailing shows that seem to have lost their mojo, and offer suggestions that might help them get it back!
THE SHOW: ABC’s Sunday-night hit, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
THE PROBLEMS: Every time this show hits a speed bump — which it seems to do fairly regularly — The Powers That Be make it clear they understand what’s wrong… and then fail to fix it. As in the past, this show has lost its way. The one continuing story — Dave’s quest for revenge — has unfolded at a snail’s pace and proven to be a total snore (despite the fact that Edie’s psycho hubby is played by the always-captivating Neal McDonough). Every year, we are promised a story that will involve the women working together — the formula which proved so successful back in season one — and yet each year, the show fails to deliver. In the case of Dave’s Revenge, Bree and Gabi have next-to-nothing to do with the saga (heck, Mrs. McClosky has been a bigger player), while what should be Edie’s best story yet has been anything but. Worse, the secondary stories are as simple as a child’s connect-the-dots book. So-called storylines like Bree lending Lynette money (and the inevitable fallout) are cookie-cutter plots that have been done a thousand times before. Sure, we’re seeing them played out by a top-notch cast, but is that really enough?
Meet Your AMERICAN IDOL Top 36
Good News, Bad News: Zachary Levi, PUSHING DAISIES & UGLY BETTY
Good News: CHUCK star Zachary Levi has been tapped to headline his very own feature film. Bad News: His co-stars are three computer-generated singing rodents named Alvin, Simon and Theodore. [Source]
Good News: PUSHING DAISIES has just been added to theWB.com’s ever-expanding lineup of TV Addict favorites. Bad News: Favorites that are still only available to those inside the good Ol’ US of A. [Source]
Good News: UGLY BETTY fans can breath a sigh of relief thanks to Michael Ausiello, who is reporting that ABC is on the verge of picking up the series for a fourth season. Bad News: Which is ironic, because we’re fairly sure that it was Ausiello himself who was responsible for all the ugly cancellation rumors to begin with! [Source]

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
AMERICAN IDOL (8PM FOX, CTV in Canada)
Do we really need two hours to announce the final 36? Apparently, the answer is yes.
THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (8PM CBS)
Left to her own devices, Christine attempts to prove she can take care of herself. Something tells us this won’t be pretty.
GARY UNMARRIED (8:30PM CBS)
We love shows with creative episode titles. This is not one of those shows. In fact, the title of tonight’s episode — “Gary And Dennis’ Sister” — either tells you everything you need to know about the plot or tells me you’re perhaps not smart enough for a better program.
LOST (9PM ABC)
To say that this show has become wildly confusing would be an understatement on the level of “Sometimes, one can spot blue in the sky during the daytime.” But that’s not a complaint by any stretch of the imagination. Given how dumbed-down 90 percent of television is these days, we’ll take a complicated story that keeps us guessing and using our brains any day. This week, Locke gets it into his head that he can stop the island from hop-scotching through time.
Exclusive Interview: Thomas Dekker Fights For the Future
Turns out that actor Thomas Dekker has learned a thing or two about fighting for the future over the course of two season on TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.
Because on a chilly morning in January, Dekker took an unscheduled break from his exhaustive shooting schedule to drop by the Hotel Palomar, fight for his future employment (or as they call it in the biz, a third season pickup for TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES) to talk up what fans can expect when TERMINATOR returns to the airwaves this Friday February 13th at 8PM on FOX.
With apologies for starting this interview off on a bit of a negative note, I have to ask, are you surprised to still be on the air?
Thomas Dekker: I am and I’m not surprised, because internationally we’re doing really really well [in the ratings]. So it’s kind of that tough thing, because obviously, when you look at the ratings stateside you think “huh?” But then you look and see how we’re doing around the rest of the world and you kind of get it.
Sort of like how PRISON BREAK is huge internationally, but not so much in America?
Exactly. Most of the fan mail I get is from England.
Have you started to get recognized when you travel?
I’ve rarely been recognized because of the hair difference. Just when everyone got used to me with the long hair…. God I miss my long hair….
Really? Because I have to say, I’m not sure the fandom misses Emo John Connor.
[Laughs] The short hair is more fitting with the character, but for me, it’s a psychological need to be able to hide.
EVERWOOD Alum News: Chris Pratt Joins Amy Poehler’s PARKS AND RECREATION
With today news that EVERWOOD alum Chris Pratt will be joining the cast of Amy Poehler’s highly anticipated new NBC comedy, it should come as no surprise that this TV Addict is in complete agreement with Michael Ausiello when he says that PARKS AND RECREATION “just went from Must-See TV to Wild-Horses-Couldn’t-Drag-Me-Away TV.”
That said, we’re going to have to disagree with Ausiello when it comes to his assertion that, “the only thing that could make this show better is if they hired Cheri Oteri to play Poehler’s wacky assistant.”
