Today’s TV Addict Top 5: COMMUNITY Spoofs We’d Like to See!
In recognition of last night fantastic instalment of COMMUNITY that paid homage to some of the best action movies over the past three decades, this TV Addict thought now might be as good a time as any to suggest a few TV shows and Movies creator Dan Harmon and Co. might wish to consider aiming their sights on next season.
COMMUNITY meets LOST
With T-Minus way-too-little-time until the mind-boggling journey that has been six seasons of LOST comes to a close, we’re already worried about how we’re going to fill the void. Which is why we propose COMMUNITY open its second season with a premiere that flashes back (complete with obligatory blink-and-you’ll miss character connections!) in an effort to elaborate on the curious set of circumstances that led each one of our intrepid gang of ner-do-wells to end up at Glendale Community College.
COMMUNITY meets GLEE
One of the biggest revelations from last night’s Paint Ball meets Modern Warfare episode of COMMUNITY was that amidst the chess, debate, and A/V club is, you guessed it, a Glee Club! No, not that Glee club, but rather a nefarious group of performers that Jeff Winger and Co. totally need to take down a notch in some sort of sing-off as punishment for their use of insidious tactics such as A Capella renditions of hit songs to draw people into sniper traps! And no, we do in fact find anything wrong with leaching of the popularity of other shows that may-or-may-not involve a glee club in an effort to beef up ratings for COMMUNITY!

Must Read TV: 30 ROCK, GLEE, TRUE BLOOD & More!
• First Look: Matt Damon visits 30 ROCK
• News that sucks: Katee Sackhoff turned down TRUE BLOOD for a generic ABC cop procedural that may-or-may-not get picked up.
• Because we never tire of flash mobs, Ohio State catches the GLEE-ver!
• Catching up with… COMMUNITY creator Dan Harmon.
• Friends 4ever, Rumor has it, Matthew Perry’s new ABC series will be paired with Courtenty Cox’s COUGAR TOWN on Tuesdays at 9PM this fall.
Your TV Tech Fix: Media Center Finally Goes Embedded, Could be Your Next DVR
Forget what you thought you knew about Microsoft’s various living room blunders (assuming you knew anything at all) and listen up. Because the company that brought you such ‘winners’ as WebTV and Media Center Extender may have actually got something right.
An Open Letter to the CW (Re: Summer schedule, or lack thereof)
Dear CW,
In response to today’s announcement that your “summer strategy” for attracting viewers involves re-airing the defunct Alex O’Loughlin drama MOONLIGHT on Thursday nights starting June 3rd following encore episodes of the first season of the THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, we’ve got six words for you: Thank goodness for USA and TNT. And that’s us taking the high road.

Say What? Our TV Quote of the Day!
“Pitch went well! Now back to waiting… done all we can do. 15 more days,” tweeted LIFE UNEXPECTED creator Liz Tigelaar with regards to the pitch she just gave to the CW network brass on her vision for LIFE UNEXPECTED’s second season. Of course, whether or not the CW will do the right thing and give this little-show-that-could a much-deserved second season won’t be known until the May 20th UpFront in New York City. Stay Tuned!
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things You Didn’t Know About BONES Author Kathy Reichs
While you’re more than likely aware that Kathy Reichs’ books and real-life work as a forensic anthropologist are the basis for the hit FOX series BONES, here are five things you might not know about her.
Temperance Brennan and the Last Crusade.
Yes, it may surprise fans to learn that BONES might have been a very different show had things gone a little differently career wise for celebrated author Kathy Reichs. “Archeology and working with ancient skeletons was something I was very happily doing when police started bringing me cases and I found the coroner work, the medical examiner work, very compelling,” explained Reichs on a recent conference call promoting tonight’s episode of BONES in which she wrote. “Archaeology is fascinating but if you’re wrong, you’re not going to send anybody to jail. I really liked the relevance of it [Medical examiner work], that you could actually impact someone’s life. I retrained, became Board certified, and I’ve been in the forensic anthropology field ever since.”
Reichs and Brennan share the same profession, not personality.
Despite penning a slew of NY Times best-selling novels based on her personal experiences both in and out of the crime lab, Reichs is quick to point out that herself and the character that fans see on TV are not one in the same. Unlike Temperance Brennan, who is far more tied to the Jeffersonian, Reichs’ professional career has spanned the globe, taking her to such far off places as Rwanda to testify at the UN Tribunal on Genocide, Guatemala where she helped identify individuals from mass graves, and Korea/ Southeast Asia in order to assist in identifying war dead from World War II. And while Reichs does admit to having a similar sense of humor, one that she believes was an important component in creating the show, “I think we’re different as far as her social awkwardness and her inability to form close relationships.”
