We Break Down Which Fan Favorite Deserves a TV Guide Magazine Cover
In a stroke of marketing genius, TV Guide Magazine is allowing fans to choose the cover of the December 13th issue for the first time in their 57-year history. And while we have been blogging just long enough to know there is absolutely no point in attempting to sway any fandom’s vote, we thought it might be fun to share with you our thought process when it comes to which show we’re voting for and why.
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things You Didn’t Know About THE MIDDLE Star Eden Sher
Her life as a hollywood celebrity is no as exciting as you might think.
Despite what the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton might have you believe, the life of a young Hollywood starlet isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Turns out, when star Eden Sher is not busy shooting THE MIDDLE, she isn’t celebrating the sophomore success of the hit ABC comedy with weekend jaunts to Las Vegas or late nights out at the Viper Room. So just what is Sher doing in her downtime thanks to her newfound fame? Easy, “Sleep!” revealed Sher on a recent one-on-one interview. “On the weekend I just sleep most of the time because we’re working so hard on the show during the week.”
She is not as big a cross-country fan as the character she plays on TV.
Talk to any actor who has been asked to learn a skill (such as martial arts or guitar) for a role and you’ll invariably discover that they’ve fallen in love with their new found talent. Any actor that is except Eden Sher, who can’t quite muster Sue’s enthusiasm for cross-country. “I can of course relate to her in every episode because I play her, but I’m definitely not as ‘Sue-ish’,” explained Sher. “I never was on my school’s cross-country team and I actually have no intention of every doing it! Learning about it from Sue, well, it’s hard work and a very weird sport.”

Review: Netflix.ca
After years of being green with envy over our American friends ability to utter the phrase, “Dude, I’m totally going to catch up with that on Netflix,” Canada’s time has finally arrived. Netflix.ca is here. But is it worth the price of admission? We’ve spent the better part of the last month taking the service out for a test drive and come to the following conclusion.
What Works: In short, virtually everything. As advertised Netflix.ca allows users to “instantly watch unlimited movies and TV shows over the internet” for a ridiculously low price of $7.99 per month. What’s more, thanks to the services’ ridiculously easy to navigate website and clever (albeit not perfect) recommendation engine, you’ll never run out of entertainment options that you can watch quite literally anywhere and everywhere courtesy of the system’s compatibility with the PS3, Wii, xBox 260, iPad and iPhone. The latter of which plays surprisingly stellar after testing it both over Wi-Fi and 3G.

Move over “My Father’s Research,” inspired by tonight’s instalment of NO ORDINARY FAMILY theTVaddict.com is proud to present the latest craze in TV-related drinking games. The rules are simple: Every time a member of the Powell family utters the words “powers,” you take a drink. Rest assured, you will be smashed within minutes. Guaranteed.
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with NO ORDINARY FAMILY Star Michael Chiklis
After seven seasons of award-winning work on THE SHIELD, what is the thought process when it comes to jumping back into television?
Michael Chiklis: My first though was actually to not jump back into TV. I thought I needed to let THE SHIELD breathe, do some feature work and take life easy for a while. And then, when I decided to look back into what was happening on television, the thing I start with is the script. It’s not like science or brain surgery, I was simply looking for a really great script and a character that you feel like you can live with for an extended period of time, because unlike a feature — which is a one off situation — you sort of have to live with a TV series for a while. Clearly, I wanted to do something that was different than Vic Mackey [THE SHIELD] and while that didn’t necessarily preclude a drama, it had to have been different, powerful and good.
Just looking at the television landscape, where everything is just broken up into niche entertainment right now, I definitely saw a gap in family programming. As a father and husband, there is precious little I can sit with my family and watch, certainly in terms of scripted series’ there’s next to nothing and I thought that’s a challenge in and of itself, to do something with universal appeal. Plus, I’m a superhero geek. You know I’m a Marvel fan and NO ORDINARY FAMILY is an opportunity to actually mix genres and take on the superhero genre in a different light which just seemed really fresh, fun and something that hasn’t been done on television before.
