In the first season of FALLING SKIES, the final three episodes were all about talking the fight to the Skitters and Mechs and reminding the occupying aliens that we had not given up entirely on reclaiming our planet. In fact, the 2nd Mass worked strategically with other pockets of resistance to launch a deadly attack against the aliens. Not only did our heroes fight back and inflict some damage, they also found out that there was another alien species controlling the Skitters and Mechs: the Overlords. [Read more…]

BURN NOTICE Scoop: Matt Nix Explains the Tragic Death That Rocks Michael Westen’s World
Killing beloved characters on a TV show is always risky. It can invoke the ire of loyal fans, but it can also be the catalyst to propel a story forward. BURN NOTICE was always premised on a CIA agent getting “burned” and then stuck in Miami with his mother and his ex-girlfriend. Fortunately, in the six seasons since that pivotal moment, BURN NOTICE found a way to make Miami “home” for Michael and its avid audience. The escapades of Michael, Fiona and Sam, which later included Madeline and Jesse, has made the show like family for viewers. We cheered as they championed the little guy getting kicked around and saved countless lives. We also rooted for Michael as he fought valiantly to clear his name and make the responsible parties pay for his predicament. And we fell in love with Michael and Fiona and their blossoming relationship.
Throughout all the adventures, there was always a strong undercurrent of love and family. So when one of the family is struck down, it is a blow to the gut as well as the heart. In last week’s heart-breaking episode, Michael’s brother Nate was caught in the crossfire. It was the loss of part of our BURN NOTICE family and we mourn for Michael’s loss. In a recent conference call, creator and producer Matt Nix talked about the decision to take the show to such a dark place and make such a sacrifice so close to home. [Read more…]
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, DEXTER, HART OF DIXIE, SCANDAL, REVENGE & More!
As an enormous fan of CHUCK I’m hoping you can tell me when we might expect to see Yvonne Stahovski enter the frame this season on DEXTER? — Rickey
The TV Addict: As much as we’d like to be able to tell you that Ms. Strahovksi will be front and center during DEXTER’s first episode back, you’re going to have to wait until episode three. Of course, having already had the pleasure of watching episode one, you’ll be pleased to know that what it lacks in the Strahovksi department it more than makes up for with a return to form for the series thanks to Deb finally learning the truth about her brother’s extra curricular activities. In fact, I think star Michael C. Hall said it best during the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour when he summed up the season as so, “Whatever your opinion of ranking the seasons, for my money DEXTER is never more compelling than when he is in trouble and never been deeper trouble than he is now.”
Any hints as what zaniness might befall the town of Bluebell when HART OF DIXIE returns for its much anticipated second season? — Ashley
The TV Addict: Are you ready for some football fitness?! We hope so, because that’s the question Dr. Zoe Hart will be asking the residents of Bluebell during the second season in an attempt to slim down the town’s ever-expanding waistline. A waistline whose diet includes a steady staple of, well, fried everything. And while we’re on the subject of waist, fans may-or-may-not be please to discover that Lavon will be wasting (See what we did there!) very little time when it come to picking up the pieces of his broken heart post-Lemon rejection.
Did you happen to pick up any clues as to the identity of SCANDAL’s Quinn during your reason time spent at the Television Critics Association Press Tour? — Sara
The TV Addict: Unfortunately, since Shonda Rhimes has trained her troupe a little too well when it comes to the oh-so dark arts of spoiler avoidance, the only thing we could get out of SCANDAL star Guillermo Díaz (Huck) is the following. “I know who Quinn is now and everyone else will know after the show’s first episode back. Or they think they might know. But a lot of questions will be answered in the first episodes and I think people will be really satisfied with it/ It definitely is going to change the relationships between everyone on the show. It’s going to change things for sure, but change can be good.” [Read more…]
State of the Union: Creator Greg Berlanti Opens Up About the Chances of Seeing a Second Season of POLITICAL ANIMALS
Despite being billed as a ‘limited series event,’ a second term for USA Network’s sizzling summer series POLITICAL ANIMALS remains a distinct possibility. Or at least that was our takeaway from a recent one-on-one with creator Greg Berlanti during this week’s Television Critics Association Press Tour that saw us muster every ounce of journalist integrity (Read: Refrain from gushing over EVERWOOD and JACK & BOBBY with the brains behind two of our all-time favorite shows) to ask a serious and far more pressing question.
