This is it, the moment we have been waiting for over the past two seasons. It is the night of Jenna’s choice. Sure, it certainly seemed like Jenna had made her choice long ago when she picked Jake over Matty at the end of the first season. But as this second season has shown, it was increasingly hard for Jenna to abide by her decision. Her heart kept pulling her back to Matty — no matter how many times she told herself and everyone else that she had picked Jake. So the big moment has come again, and this time Jenna’s choice will be final. [Read more…]

Dispatches From The Couch: Reality Done Right
I’ll admit it: When it came to last night’s season premiere of SURVIVOR, I came for Blair Warner.
Yes, yes, I know her real name is Lisa something or other, but she’ll always be THE FACTS OF LIFE’s Blair to me, forever hanging out with Tootie and Jo and Mrs. Garrett at Eastland School for Girls.
But as is often the case with SURVIVOR, within 15 minutes I was sucked into the social game that inevitably begins to unfold when you take a bunch of strangers, strip them of their worldly goods and shove them on an island to face the elements. Because here’s the thing: Unlike almost any other so-called reality show, SURVIVOR is, even after all these seasons, about as real as you can get. [Read more…]

HAVEN Central: Eric Balfour Previews Duke Crocker’s Dark Journey in Season Three
When we all first met Duke Crocker, we saw a young man motivated by his own goals, whether that was smuggling goods or running his restaurant The Grey Gull. He only became embroiled in the ongoing “troubles” of Haven as events began to spiral out of control, and over the course of the past 2 seasons, we have seen a fascinating transformation in Duke.
As portrayed by star Eric Balfour, Duke became much more attune to how all the “troubles” were beginning to affect him and encroach on his way of life. At first begrudgingly and then a bit more determinedly, Duke seemed to realize that this was a unique opportunity to change his fate; though he probably never anticipated that his fate had already been preordained from birth simply because his family carried a curse or “trouble” of their own. He found out that by killing anyone afflicted with a “troubled” that he could save their families from every passing down their “trouble” to future generations. That is never something anyone wants to hear: it’s your destiny to kill people.
So, in the third season, Duke finds himself at a crossroads. Does he pick up the burden placed upon him and help the “troubled” by exterminating them? Or does he wrestle with fate and find a different path to help the “troubled”? And just where does that place him in his friendships with Audrey Parker and Nathan Wuornos?
In a recent exclusive interview, Eric Balfour shared a few insights into the dilemma Duke faces this season, as well as how much fun he is having playing Duke as he wrestles with his demons. [Read more…]

HAVEN Central: Meet Kate Kelton, Season Three’s Mystery Woman
Portraying the most controversial of the new characters introduced in HAVEN this season, Kate Kelton is the woman to keep a close eye on. Her character Jordan McKee maybe a waitress at Haven’s Gun & Rose café, but as fans who have been following the digital media campaign on Twitter are well aware, Jordan is also the face of the mysterious organization known as The Guard. Actively recruiting the “troubled” from the four corners to “Escape to Haven” (#EscapeToHaven on Twitter), Jordan appears to be the benign face of a group of people offering sanctuary and a safe haven for those who feel persecuted, excluded and simply afraid of how their abilities set them apart in a world where “special” is interpreted as “strange” and something to be feared.
