SURVIVOR! GREY’S ANATOMY! VERONICA MARS! DALLAS! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Best Meltdown: Watching SURVIVOR’s Brandon lose his marbles was the very definition of train-wreck TV. We wanted to look away but… oh, who are we kidding?
Coolest Casting, Daytime Division: HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL alum Corbin Bleu signed on to Hulu.com’s reboot of ONE LIFE TO LIVE, which is slated to return in late April. Maybe he can get buddy Zac Efron to pay Llanview a visit…
Best Reason Not To Set Your DVR: AMC and Netflix announced that three months after THE KILLING’s third season wraps its run on the former, the latter will make the season available to subscribers.
Cruelest Irony: Pugnacious pundit Keith Olbermann reached a settlement in his $50 million lawsuit against former employer Current TV… which he can’t talk about because of the confidentiality clause.
Best Rebranding: Avery’s suggestion that Seattle Grace be renamed after Lexie and Mark made even this jaded GREYS ANATOMY viewer well up just a bit.
Most Unexpected Twist: VERONICA MARS may get that much-discussed move thanks to Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell’s Kickstarter effort which proved that fans really are willing to put their money where there mouths are.
Most Overdue Confession: At long last, GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Sabrina told Patrick that he was the guy she dreamed of playing doctor with.
Dumbest Blonde: THE BACHELOR’s Sean Lowe, who just joined the cast of DANCING WITH THE STARS, insists that he hates the whole “reality-show fame” thing, apparently not understanding that he could just say no.
Worst Trend: NBC is giving its new reality series READY FOR LOVE a weekly two-hour slot, and CELEBRITY APPRENTICE will begin airing similarly supersized outings on April 14. Remember when the only 120 minute thing airing on any network was a movie? [Read more…]
Early Check In! Watch the First Six Minutes of A&E’s BATES MOTEL
GRIMM Gossip: Star Reggie Lee Previews What’s In Store for Fans of the Hit Friday Night Frightfest!
In a series where things that go bump-in-the-night are truly terrifying, GRIMM showcases what life would be like if supernatural beings lived amongst us on only the special few could see them. Yet not all of them are big, bad scary creatures. In an exclusive interview, co-star Reggie Lee talked about whether or not his character Sergeant Wu is part of that supernatural club, who he is rooting for in the love triangle between Nick (David Giuntoli), Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) and Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz), and what kinds of excitement the remainder of Season 2 promises for viewers. In Appreciation of BANSHEE: A Wild Ride Down the Rabbit Hole
Very few television shows can actually lay claim to the charmingly descriptive use of Lewis Carroll’s phraseology, but Cinemax’s BANSHEE was smart enough to actually name their villain “Mr. Rabbit.” With the octane-fuelled and intense season one finale knocking at the door, fans that have embraced the series are finally going to be rewarded with a final confrontation with uber-villain Rabbit (Ben Cross) versus reluctant-hero Lucas Hood (Antony Starr).
As faithful viewers already know, neither Rabbit or Hood bears their true name and hides behind a moniker befitting their illusory masks in order to instill fear or trust in those around them. Rabbit seeks to terrorize all those around him in order to keep control of his criminal organization; and Lucas seeks everyone’s trust so that they will not suspect his true identity and dark past. So names, like Lewis Carroll was infinitely aware, are powerful. Just why a criminal would choose the name “Rabbit” still confounds us. But perhaps it is meant to be an Americanization of something as simple as Rabinowitz; and surely, the name Rabbit sounds a bit more terrifying. Or perhaps it was meant to be more reassuring and less threatening for a man who has no heart. [Read more…]
