ONCE UPON A TIME Season 5 Premiere Teasers: The New Dark One
Emma made the ultimate sacrifice to save her family and friends last season on ONCE UPON A TIME when she gave up her goodness to become the Dark One. Now her family is desperate to save her from fully descending into evil.
But how does Brave’s Merida and the new Camelot storyline fit into the Charmings’ attempt to save their daughter? According to ABC, Emma will meet Merida and King Arther in the season 5 premiere.
Here is what’s to come in the episode: “Immediately after becoming the Dark One, Emma disappears and heroes must band together to save her, but first they have to find her, which will require the help of an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, in the Enchanted Forest, Emma struggles to resist her dark urges as she searches for Merlin in the hope that he can stop her transformation. Along the way to Camelot, she gets help from the plucky and brave warrior princess Merida, as well as King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.”
Don’t miss the season premiere of ONCE UPON A TIME on Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. ABC will also be airing a ONCE UPON A TIME retrospective special beginning at 7:00 p.m. that same evening which will contain teasers for the upcoming season.
THE FLASH Season 2 Preview: A Portal to Other Worlds
When a singularity appeared above Central City in the season 1 finale of THE FLASH, it didn’t only endanger the city, it also opened up a portal to other worlds. When the show returns for its second season, Barry and his team will have to deal with the repercussions of this cosmic event.
Jay Garrick (the original Flash in the comics) will be coming from Earth 2 into Barry’s world, bringing news of Zoom, an “unstoppable demon” who threatens Barry and the planet. A new preview for the second season also introduces Patty Spivot, a cop and science enthusiast who is obsessed with metahumans and partners with Joe West. When Barry starts falling for her, she’ll be complicating his love life. Should we expect a love triangle with her, Barry and Iris?
THE FLASH returns for its second season on Tuesday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
THE WIZARD OF LIES: HBO Releases First Photo for Bernie Madoff Movie
HBO has released its first official photo from THE WIZARD OF LIES, the new TV movie chronicling the life of Bernie Madoff, the notorious white collar criminal who was running a Ponzi scheme that all fell apart.
Robert De Niro will be starring as Madoff, with Michelle Pfeiffer (his recent co-star in the feature film The Family) starring as Madoff’s wife, Ruth. The film will chronicle the fallout from the discovery of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme for both his clients and his own family.
This also won’t be the only Madoff-centric TV project. Richard Dreyfuss will be portraying him as well in an upcoming ABC limited series titled MADOFF.
iZOMBIE Season 2 Premiere Photos: New Cases and New Adjustments
Liv cured Blaine of his zombie-ism in season 1 of iZOMBIE, but he is going to have to learn how to navigate both worlds when the show returns for its second season, as you can see in photos from the premiere below. He’ll enjoy some aspects of being human again (not having to eat brains, for one thing), but he’ll definitely be missing the immortality and the power that came from being a member of the undead. Plus, there’s potential side effects of his cure that the show will be addressing.
Meanwhile, Liv will be alienated from many of her loved ones when iZOMBIE returns, but she and Ravi are back to work solving cases. And Max Rager will still be a villain in the upcoming season.
Don’t miss the return of iZOMBIE on Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.

Fall TV Preview: THE GRINDER
The Premise: Starring Emmy Award nominee Rob Lowe (PARKS AND RECREATION, THE WEST WING) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Fred Savage (THE WONDER YEARS), THE GRINDER is a new comedy about two brothers: one a spotlight-grabbing actor who plays TV’s most popular lawyer and the other, a real-life, small-town attorney who has yet to find his spotlight. When his long-running hit series comes to an end, Dean (Lowe) finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small home town thinking he has the experience to take over his family’s law firm, where he butts heads with his brother, Stewart (Savage).
The Premiere Date: Tuesday, Sept. 29 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (City TV in Canada)
The Competition: FRESH OFF THE BOAT (ABC), THE FLASH (The CW), THE VOICE (NBC), NCIS (CBS)
The Quick Take: Despite its somewhat sitcom-esque premise (One brother’s a lawyer… one plays one on TV!) this single-camera comedy played much better then advertised. The show’s premise not only allows for the show to take some seriously funny shots at serialized dramas with a nice blend of meta and not-quite-meta gags, Lowe and Savage appear to be having the time of their life playing off one another. Also working in the show’s favor, both Lowe and Savage’s ridiculously likeable on screen personas turn what otherwise might have been annoying and over-the-top characters into likeable winners.
The Bottom Line: Seeing as though we have a severe weakness for shows that send-up Hollywood (RIP: ENTOURAGE and ACTION), we’ve already awarded THE GRINDER a season’s pass. Of course, whether that pass actually last the entire season will depend on whether the show can evolve pass its sitcome-esque premise. #staytuned
