LUCIFER: Rachael Harris and Tom Ellis on Linda’s Future Reaction to Angels and Demons
Dr. Linda Martin now knows the truth on LUCIFER. The Psychiatrists who thought her patient had been speaking in metaphors nows that the Devil and angels and demons are very real. Her initial reaction was one of shock. When Maze approached her, Linda questioned how they could be friends. But the good doctor seems to be gradually making peace with the idea that these celestial — and devilish — creatures are real.
During a visit to the set of LUCIFER in Vancouver*, Rachael Harris (Dr. Linda Martin) and Tom Ellis (Lucifer) spoke about what’s next for Linda and Lucifer now that she knows his secret. Hint: she’s actually kind of excited.
What’s Next? “What’s great is [Linda is] no longer rolling her eyes at [Lucifer] and looking at him as an object,” Harris explains. “She’s actually seeing him even though it’s completely foreign to her. When you finally hear the truth from somebody, you relax and you don’t feel like you have to manipulate. I feel their relationship gets deeper and it’s better because she feels like she can actually help him. They do get to a place where he says, ‘Look at me. I’m just a person with a very dysfunctional family.’ They get to a point where she goes, if I can look at you in this category, and he’s like, just treat me like a normal patient. She really does struggle with that….I did have a question of, ‘Is there going to be anything interesting for them to talk about?’ In actuality, now it’s even better, because she can really, really get into it with him.”
Going All In. Linda’s curiosity about things that she believed were only stories is definitely going to grow, Harris said. “In the pilot, Lucifer says [Maze] is a complicated one. She does start getting off on [this knowledge]. She starts asking him a lot of questions. [She points out,] ‘I’m the only one who knows this.’ She does get off on it and that’s what’s great: she uses her education to then ask more questions. Her whole thing is learning what makes people take. Now she’s like, now I get to learn what makes the celestial beings tick….And to Maze, she sees the humanity in Maze. She sees a growth in Maze that is really exciting.” Fans should also expect to see more from Linda and Maze as their relationship continues to deepen.
Is Lucifer Regretting His Choice? From a purely selfish standpoint, the devil doesn’t think he made the right choice according to Ellis. Mostly because Linda is too busy talking about celestial topics instead of Lucifer’s issues: “It’s kind of [like] Lucifer didn’t think this thing through. It becomes almost inconvenient for him that his therapist now wants to talk about other things other than him. So, you know, that all aside, he still wants to go to therapy and find out what’s going on with everything and her sort of going off on her own thing is very, very sort of annoying for Lucifer. It’s something that, again, he didn’t think it through. He didn’t think it through at all. So what comes with it is inconvenient and then we make a progression, but you can’t make that much progression when someone knows you’re the actual devil.”

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: The Cast Teases New Paths and the Legion of Doom
Things have changed on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW this season. The legends’ old leader — Rip Hunter — has vanished. Two of its members retired last season and have been replaced. And now Ray Palmer has lost his Atom suit, which means he’s going to forge a new path. In addition, the team isn’t just fighting one villain any longer — they’re fighting an entire Legion of Doom.
During a recent visit to the set of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW in Vancouver*, the cast spoke to journalists about what’s next for Ray, this week’s episode and more.
Losing the Suit. “There’s no [more] dwarf star alloy, so he’s kind of screwed as of right now, and that becomes a story point in episodes to continue,” Brandon Routh said of Ray. “But he’s going to be without the suit for some time, and that gives him an opportunity to figure out this whole hero business, what it is to be a hero, and if he’s a hero without the suit.” In addition, Routh went on to say that “He created the suit in order to be more of a hero, because he couldn’t affect change, he couldn’t take out the Mirakuru soldiers when they attacked the city and killed his fiancée. So he is without purpose and lost in many ways without the suits, because that’s what made him — in his mind and everyone’s mind — kind of a hero. Is a hero’s mind and a hero’s heart enough to affect change enough is kind of the journey he goes on.” Expect to see Ray take “on different roles [and try] other things out for a few episodes, trying to give [himself] purpose.”
The New Captain Cold? We’ve seen Mick Rory give Ray the cold gun, so could the former Atom become the new Captain Cold? Not so fast, said Routh, saying that this action was more about friendship than anything else. “I don’t know if he wants to be a replacement for Captain Cold, but he’s honored and touched by the friendship, the kinship, the trust, whatever that is that Mick bestows [upon] Ray. That’s the powerful thing about it: it boosts his confidence after he feels like he’s lost at sea. It gives him a little bit of footing, grounding to get back to himself again. As the next episodes progress, he feels more like, ‘Oh, maybe this Captain Cold thing is something fun,’ or at least try it on.”
The Legion of Doom. As you can see from the clip below, the Legion of Doom (or the beginnings of it) are plotting and they will be returning in this week’s episode. Routh points out that the Legion is “big trouble. They’re created so many aberrations that we’ve been after. Not all of them have been because of them, but most of them have been, and they continue to do that. It’s mystifying because we don’t know what their goal is, what their aim is, which is one of the frustrating things. We can’t get ahead of them. We’re just constantly following after them, the bread crumbs that they leave behind. But we’re apparently a part of their plan, because they’re not just outright offing us either.” Caity Lotz (Sara Lance) says that this year’s villains are much more personal for her character: “It’s like if the people that you hate the most started like hanging out. They’re like the new mean girls. They’re the Plastics, and she’s just like, ‘Of course. Of course you guys would be in cahoots together.’ But it also makes it interesting for me, as an actor, to have such a passionate relationship or history with these bad guys. I think with Savage, it was hard last year because Sara’s like, ‘Who’s this guy?’ And now it’s like Malcolm Merlyn, who….had her killed, and Damien Darhk killed her sister. There’s a lot of hatred, I think, that she’s going to have to deal with [with] these guys.”
Episode 12.05. The team is heading back to the 1980s this week — specifically, they’re heading to the Ronald Reagan White House. Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya) said that “We learn a lot more about her backstory in [episode 12.05]. And we meet an old member of the JSA, who has now, obviously, grown up a little bit.”
Getting Used to the Team. Amaya may have joined the legends for one reason — revenge — but she’s going to grow to like the team more. Richardson-Sellers said “she’s just got one goal, which is to find Rex’s killer and then to go back. There’s no other ulterior motive here. But then as she spends more time with them, she discovers they’re actually very interesting people, as well, and starts to form bonds with them. So I think it’s going to be a huge question for her, what happens when Rex’s killer is found, where does that leave her?” In particular, Amaya “and Sara have an interesting dynamic because they’re very strong, independent women, who exist in a very male world. It’s very much a sort of bromance, if anything. [Amaya] and Rory have a very interesting dynamic, which slowly develops more. Because he’s the one that she jars with most at first, because he’s sort of an antihero and a self-proclaimed criminal. Then they get put in some very sticky situations together. From that, they develop an unsuspected friendship, which is nice.” Caity Lotz (Sara Lance) agreed and said that she “really [likes] their vibe together. They’re like two cool chicks, and Maisie in real life is really cool.”
Personal Growth. Even more than developing individual friendships, expect to see this experience change Amaya as a person. Richardson-Sellers said that “She sees being a hero as being very pragmatic, very organized, very clear black and white — what’s right, what’s wrong — whereas [the legends are] much more — they’re ordinary people. Very flawed [and] fantastical at the same time. So I think she learns a lot about what it actually means to be a hero to her, the fact that she can have fun, she can have relationships, she can just relax and have friends. It doesn’t have to be purely work. That’s a whole arc throughout the season, which I think is really nice for her.”

CHICAGO MED Sneak Peek: Challenges and Big Risks
April faces a big challenge after her discovery at the end of last week’s CHICAGO MED, while some of the other doctors deal with a risky idea for a transplant patient.
Doctors Halstead and Manning deal with a transplant patient whose case gets complicated by his dialysis this week. One of their options is his brother, who is dealing with a far worse diagnosis but wants to help his brother with his kidney.
All the while, April’s cough in last week’s episode is an indicator that something’s not right with her TB and Dr. Halstead, along with April, discover that new complications have arisen.
Elsewhere on CHICAGO MED, Dr. Reese continues trying to help Danny even as he must decide. Issues follow Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Latham as they come up against an overprotective mother whose daughter’s genetic condition worsens, leaving only surgery as the remedy. As Dr. Rhodes works to get his patient what she needs, Dr. Charles attempts to meddle in his daughter Robyn’s personal affairs, making for a very angry daughter.
Watch a new CHICAGO MED tonight (November 10) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
SUPERNATURAL: Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles on the Thule’s Return, the British Men of Letters and Sam’s Powers
The Thule Society was first introduced in season 8 of SUPERNATURAL. According to show lore, the organization originated in Europe, had access to magic, and was sponsored by the Nazi party in its early days. The Winchesters and their allies have managed to defeat the Thule twice now, most recently in the episode “The Vessel”, when a female member of the Men of Letters prevented the Thule from getting the Hand of God — a magical artifact with tremendous power.
The Winchesters will be doing battle with the Thule Society again in this week’s episode when they learn that the Thule are attempting to resurrect its old leader.
During a visit to Vancouver last week*, SUPERNATURAL stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (joined by Misha Collins), spoke to journalists about this week’s episode, the legacy of Sam’s psychic powers, the methods of the British Men of Letters, and how the boys are still trying to reconnect with their resurrected mother.
Winchesters vs. Thules. “We find out that the Thule, who are back….we believe they may have been in control or in possession of a cursed object of sorts that might have a bit of Hitler’s soul,” Padalecki teased. “And they’re trying to do a Jurassic Park and take the amber out of the tree sap and the mosquito DNA or whatever. Obviously we don’t know how it’s going and so we have to kind of go back and track the Thule and figure out if, in fact, they have succeeded. Though Hitler’s vessel, thankfully, is gone.” However, while Hitler’s vessel may be gone, you should expect to see the “SUPERNATURAL take on what Hitler was really like behind the camera.”
Sam’s Powers. Sam hasn’t used his psychic powers in many years, but the last episode brought them to the forefront when he found another psychic — Magda — who was punished by her deeply religious family for the abilities she was unable to control. Sam managed to get through to her rage by recounting his own experience with the same types of powers. But that doesn’t mean that these abilities will be returning, according to Padalecki. His conversation with Magda was about connecting with her and trying to get her to look past her desire for revenge: “I don’t think it’s something he feels is going to come back or he’s hoping will come back. I think he probably – even though there were obvious benefits, I think he’s probably hoping it doesn’t come back, but he acknowledges it. He considers it part of himself.”
The British Men of Letters. At the end of the last episode we met the mysterious Mr. Ketch, who is cleaning up the “messes” that the Winchesters leave behind. While the pair chose to let psychic Magda live and repair her life after she was held captive by her own mother, Ketch and the British MOL executed her. This is a storyline that will continue to plague the brothers, according to Ackles: “It’s interesting, we’re going to see that storyline get fleshed out in the second half of the season. There’s gonna be some recruitment attempts, some disagreements about methods of hunting, and that will certainly boil to a point. But as of right now, [the British MOL] are trying their method of trying to include us by showing that they have a superior method of dealing with these things than we do, and they’re trying to get us on board with that. But I think we’ll find out in the future that maybe their methods aren’t the best way.” Padalecki called back to an older storyline, saying that it felt familiar in these circumstances: “For me it’s reminiscent of season 6 when Sam was soulless and kind of behaved much the same way the British Men of Letters are behaving now, or at least in their hunting tactics and Dean was obviously not, so it’s fun to revisit that.”
Reconnecting with Mom. In the last episode we also saw the brothers try to deal with losing Mary all over again. This time their mother chose to take a bit of space away from her boys in order to deal with being overwhelmed after recently being brought back to life. The brothers dealt with this fresh loss in different ways — Sam was understanding of Mary’s need for space, but Dean felt incredibly hurt by her decision. By the end of the episode he seemed more accepting of it when he received a text from Mary saying that she would always be their mother and that she loved them both. But the awkwardness will continue as the boys struggle to learn the real life person behind the mythical figure Mary has been all their lives. Ackles explained that “There are certainly two different relationships going on, from Sam’s perspective and then from my perspective as well, or rather Dean’s perspective. Because Sam never had a relationship with mom. He was an infant. And Dean didn’t have much of one either. A lot of what he knows and what he remembers about his mother was kind of dictated to him by his father. It’s more his father’s memories of her than it is Dean’s established memories of her. But it’s unique because she’s their mother, but she’s also kind of a stranger. Obviously the brothers are strangers to her as well, which is why you see this struggle to find their footing in the relationship because it is a forced situation. And at least from Dean’s perspective, he doesn’t really know how to fit. He doesn’t know how to categorize the relationship. It’s an awkward thing which I think lends itself to good story.”
Watch the interview below and don’t miss an all new episode of SUPERNATURAL on Thursday, November 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. You can also browse through photos from the episode here.
(Note about the video below: the interview took place the week of October 30, so when someone mentions “tonight’s episode” they are referring to the November 3 episode, while the “next episode” means the November 10 episode)

THE BIG BANG THEORY Sneak Peek: Sheldon and Amy’s Little Caper
Looks like maybe Sheldon and Amy’s relationship is about to move even further forward on THE BIG BANG THEORY.
Last week, Amy lied to Sheldon about her water-damaged apartment being repaired and ready to move back into, because she didn’t want to stop living with him. At first he was put off by the lie, but then he realized he liked living with her, too, and they even fantasized about moving out of Penny’s apartment and finding some place of their own. This week, the two science nerds try an experiment combining their genes and when it’s successful, Sheldon moves into warp drive to convince Amy to procreate with him.
Raj has been more in the background recently, helping Howard and Bernadette deal with their pending expectancy, but this week he has to try to explain the woman he’s dating and what she does for a living.
See the preview below and watch THE BIG BANG THEORY tonight (November 10) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).
