SLEEPY HOLLOW Cancelled at Fox
Fox has pulled the plug on supernatural drama SLEEPY HOLLOW after four seasons. The show has been on the bubble for a few seasons, but managed to garner a renewal last year even after female lead Nicole Beharie departed the show at the end of season 3.
In its fourth season, SLEEPY HOLLOW was pulling in 3.2 million viewers and 0.9 among adults 18-49 in Live+7 ratings.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Sneak Peek: Big Sleazy In The Big Easy
New Orleans Mayor Douglas Hamilton, or as I like to call him, “The Big Sleazy from the Big Easy,” may be up to his elbows in alligators as his enemies pile up higher than a Georgia pine tree.
Seems the good mayor, and I use the word “good” with a tad of irony, just cannot shake the doggedness of NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Special Agent, Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula).
Hamilton (Steven Weber) already has incensed Dwayne with his own dedication to self-preservation. The mayor’s tactics have ranged from having Percy (Shalita Grant) transferred to general population in prison to being willing to let Loretta (CCH Pounder) die from a horrible virus. He will go to any lengths to break up the team, and there has been talk about disbanding the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS post.
When Pride is spotted tracking one of Hamilton’s accomplices, the suspect opens fire on a crowded street before disappearing. The Director orders NCIS: NEW ORLEANS to steer clear of the case, which infuriates Dwayne.
Douglas hopes to keep the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS team busy and disjointed, so he can continue his devious plans, unfettered.
Unfortunately for Hizzoner, Dwayne’s stubbornness and the team’s loyalty are going to give Hamilton’s machinations a run for their money.
And in a city with riverboat casinos, Pride is a bet you can take to the bank.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS also stars Lucas Black, Vanessa Ferlito, Rob Kerkovich and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell.
Guest stars include Wilbur Fitzgerald, Carlos Gómez, Shawn Bradly Hoefer, Gretchen Koerner, John Newberg, Ronnie Rhodes, Lisa Mackel Smith and Donald M. Krause.
Tonight’s episode, “Down the Rabbit Hole,” was written by Brad Kern and directed by Ed Ornelas.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight (May 9) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and Global TV in Canada.
THE GIFTED: Fox Orders Marvel Network to Series and Releases Teaser
Fox has officially ordered a new Marvel series — THE GIFTED — to series for the 2017-2018 season and released a short teaser preview for the new show.
THE GIFTED “tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”
The show is written by Matt Nix (APB, BURN NOTICE) and directed by Bryan Singer (the X-MEN franchise). Stephen Moyer (SHOTS FIRED), Amy Acker (PERSON OF INTEREST), Sean Teale (REIGN), Jamie Chung (GOTHAM), Coby Bell (BURN NOTICE), Emma Dumont (AQUARIUS), Blair Redford (SATISFACTION), Natalie Alyn Lind (GOTHAM) and Percy Hynes White star.
TAKEN Renewed for Season 2 by NBC
NBC has renewed freshman drama series TAKEN for a second season. Alex Cary, who developed the series for the network, will be stepping down as the showrunner and the hunt for a new one is underway.
TAKEN has averaged a 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.0 million viewers overall in Live+7 ratings for its first 13 episode season.
TAKEN stars Clive Standen, Jennifer Beals, Gaius Charles, Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Michael Irby, James Landry Hébert and Jose Pablo Cantillo.
NCIS Sneak Peek: Showstopper
There are far more breakups on NCIS than happily-ever-afters. Gibbs’s (Mark Harmon) record alone could offset most cases of good luck in the nuptially-inclined.
Except for Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) and Breena, there is a dearth anyone hoping for a silver anniversary gift. Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) seemed the best bet on the marriage-go-round until Jackie was murdered.
Ironic, if you consider that David McCallum (Ducky) has been married for 50 years, Harmon for 30 years and Carroll for 20 years. Even perpetual divorcé, Fornell’s portrayer, Joe Spano, has been married for almost 40 years.
On tonight’s NCIS, “Something Blue,” it looks like the team’s wedding bliss track record may be taking a turn for the positive as McGee (Sean Murray) and Delilah (Margo Harshman) count the days until they walk down the aisle.
As the team watches Tim walk the tuxedo catwalk, Delilah tries to extricate herself from the mound of wedding invitations at home.
The wedding posse casts votes (and doubts) on the various formal wear, while Abby (Pauley Perrette) nails an ensemble that is truly “her.”
Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Reeves (Duane Henry) try to out-stud each other as Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) knock back champagne and admire the fashion show.
Gibbs (probably by design) and Palmer have escaped the glamfest by heading out to sea to investigate the death of a young, healthy Petty Officer aboard a Navy destroyer.
Just when it appears NCIS might get its first successful marriage since the Palmers, Delilah collapses and is hospitalized. Whether it is pre-wedding stress or something more devastating affecting the bride-to-be, the NCIS team rallies around McGee to help him cope.
Will Delilah’s collapse be a stop the festivities? I hope not. I kept my Derby hat out of the box to wear for the ceremony.
“Something Blue” was written by Jennifer Corbett & Scott Williams and directed by James Whitmore, Jr. Nick Clifford and Christina Ferraro are among the guest stars.
NCIS airs tonight (May 9) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS in the U.S. and on Global in Canada.
CHICAGO FIRE Sneak Peek: Job on the Line
And we’re back! On this week’s CHICAGO FIRE Cruz’s job is on the line after a “dust up” at a club where he works. Apparently Cruz has been charged with conduct unbecoming and, according to Chief Boden, a hearing will decide if Cruz simply gets a slap on the wrist, or if he will end up getting fired.
This is obviously upsetting to Cruz, who is confused how a minor scuffle at a club could lead to such extreme consequences. He was sure that he didn’t have any logo identifying him as a CFO — but when Boden asks him to lift up his sleeve, a tattoo is exposed that could have revealed his identity. Unfortunately for Cruz, even though he didn’t appear to do anything wrong he may have to leave the CFD indefinitely.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Gabby and Sophie arrive at someones home who appears to be either dead or sleeping. After a quick jump scare when he wakes up, they ask the man if he is alright. However, when he tries to reply there is something stuck in his mouth, Sophie says it has “quite the odor” and tries to get a better look. It’s only when Gabby attempts to remove the blockage that she realizes the green, slimy, obtrusive object is actually the man’s tongue!
Catch an all-new CHICAGO FIRE tonight (May 9) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
