As you may have heard, HEROES won’t be coming back for another season. Whether you care or not is another question all together, but don’t worry if you didn’t. My man Daniel, theTVAddict himself, had given up hope on HEROES long ago. Me? I’ll agree it wasn’t able to repeat its spectacular first season, but I stilled gleaned enough entertainment value from the super-powered band of emotionally crippled mutants to overlook the show’s low points. You know, things like the absurd story twists, bizarre characters, and often ridiculous ‘powers’ like Peter Petrelli’s “power of plot convenience” and Claire’s “power to yammer endlessly” about how she wants to be “normal.” That was her power, right?

Snap Judgments: $#*! MY DAD SAYS, MIKE & MOLLY, HAWAII FIVE-0, THE DEFENDERS & BLUE BLOODS
According to the CBS official Description: $#*! MY DAD SAYS, based on the popular Twitter feed by Justin Halpern, stars Emmy Award winner William Shatner as Ed Goodson, a forthright and opinionated dad who relishes expressing his unsolicited and often wildly politically incorrect observations to anyone within earshot. Nobody is immune from Ed’s rants, including his sons, Henry, a struggling writer-turned-unpaid blogger; and Vince (Will Sasso), the meek half of his husband/wife real estate duo with domineering Kathleen (Nicole Sullivan). When Henry finds he can no longer afford to pay rent to his pretty roommate — and secret admirer — Sam (Stephanie Lemelin), Ed reveals a soft spot and invites Henry to move in with him. Henry agrees, knowing that the verbal assault will not abate and now there will be no escape. Describing their father/son relationship is tricky – but Ed will easily come up with a few choice words.
According to the TV Addict: Despite our lack of enthusiasm for this 140 character comedy (and no, we’re not just bitter that CBS has yet to come calling for $#*! @THETVADDICT SAYS. Okay maybe a little!) old is most definitely the new black. Which is why William Shatner, Betty White’s male Hollywood equivalent will soon be making room on his very crowded award shelf for a Best Male Actor in a Comedy Emmy. Snap Judgments: LONESTAR, RUNNING WILDE, TERRA NOVA, RIDE-ALONG, MIXED SIGNALS, BOB’S BURGERS and RAISING HOPE
LONESTAR
According to the FOX official Description: LONESTAR, a sophisticated and provocative drama set against the sprawling backdrop of big Texas oil, will premiere this fall. From Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman (“Party of Five”), writer Kyle Killen and directed by Marc Webb (“(500) Days of Summer”), the compelling series stars newcomer James Wolk as a charismatic and brilliant schemer who has entangled himself in a deep, complex web from which he can’t break free. He’s caught between two very different lives and two very different women.
According to the TV Addict: “A sophisticated and provocative drama set against the sprawling backdrop of big Texas oil” is totally code for primetime soap. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Snap Judgments: NBC Picks Up THE CAPE, OUTLAWS, HARRY’S LAW & FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS
According to the NBC official description: THE CAPE is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons (“ER”) as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, “Life on Mars”) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, “Flash Forward”). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Faraday becomes “The Cape” his son’s favorite comic book superhero — and takes the law into his own hands. Rounding out the cast are James Frain (“The Tudors”) as billionaire Peter Fleming – The Cape’s nemesis – who moonlights as the twisted killer: Chess; Keith David (“Death at a Funeral”) as Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape; Summer Glau (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) as Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick (“Six Degrees”) as Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday.
According to this TV Addict: You only get one chance to make a good first impression, which, thanks to the epic fail that is the above promotional photo, THE CAPE most definitely does not do. Add to that a premise that sounds like some NBC exec was a little too fond of CBS’ cheestacular 90’s reboot of THE FLASH (not that there’s anything wrong with that says the TV Addict who owns the complete series on DVD) and we have to ask ourselves the slightly awkward albeit painfully obvious question for any show that involves Summer Glau: When is too soon to start a “Save Our Show” campaign?

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things That Are Still Bugging Us About Sunday Night’s DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
Even for a show as notoriously uneven as DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, Sunday night’s episode left us feeling more than a little annoyed. Why? Well, here’s a few reasons. Five, to be exact!
Patrick’s Plot
Oh, look, another neighbor with a secret that has absolutely no impact on the neighborhood. Who cares if Angie and her clan get blown to bits? As is usually the case, the new family on the block had very little meaningful interaction with the people we actually care about. What a waste to have John Barrowman play a boring madman with baggage. And not for nothin’, but in this day and age, how did it take him nearly two decades to track down Angie and Nick? Sorry, not buyin’ this sad mess.
Eddie, Schmeddie
It was bad enough that we spent an entire season on a so-called mystery only to have the show turn an under-five into the serial killer. It was kinda cool revealing that Susan, not Julie, was her intended victim, but that was about the only payoff. Having Lynette suddenly develop an interest in the kid and have him move in was just plain moronic. Building the penultimate episode of the season around a very pregnant Lynette being held hostage by a B-lister? Downright mysogonistic.
