Red Carpet Redux: The Cast of THE BRIDGE Teases Season 2

July 9, 2014 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

the bridge season 2

FX’s tense drama THE BRIDGE returns for its second season with the continuing saga of Detectives Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir) as they seek to stop the killing of young woman in Juarez, Mexico, whether it be by one man “El Diablo” or a coordinated culture of police corruption and depravity amongst a select few who view these girls as disposable commodities. Also left unresolved from the first season is whether Marco will actually go forward on his vendetta against the man who killed his son.

Simultaneously, there is the fates of Charlotte Millwright (Annabeth Gish) and her faithful farm hand Cesar (Alejandro Patino), who inherited a tunnel between the U.S. and Mexico, which Fausto Galvin (Ramon Franco), the Mexican drug cartel leader, considers his business investment and property for his exclusive use in smuggling drugs over the border. But there may be a bit of a tug of war for that business opportunity with the appearance of Monte P. Flagman (Lyle Lovett) who may have his own designs on the tunnel and the drug enterprise.

Also pursuing life on the sidelines and looking for an angle to exploit to further their careers are Daniel Frye (Matthew Lillard) and Adrianna Mendez (Emily Rios), who are certain that there is a much bigger story to be uncovered with the disappearing girls of Juarez.

With so many lives unknowingly intertwined, yet all following the same threads to perhaps the same end point, things are about to get a lot more heated and intense and dangerous for everyone.

During a special premiere, the cast of THE BRIDGE took a few minutes to preview where their varied characters’ stories pick back up as well as introducing a few new characters who join the fight against drug trafficking and human slavery in both El Paso and Juarez, Mexico. [Read more…]

THE GOOD WIFE! THE COLBERT REPORT! NCIS! NEW GIRL! GENERAL HOSPITAL! The TV Addict Week in Rewind

March 28, 2014 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

ALICIAPHONE

Least Leaked Spoiler: THE GOOD WIFE proved that even in this day and age, it is possible to keep a major plot twist a secret and catch the masses off guard.

Most In Need Of Olivia Pope’s Help: SCANDAL’s Columbus Short (Harrison) was arrested following a bar brawl and could face up to four years behind bars for felony assault.

Worst Use Of The Twitter Machine: “I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensativity To Orientals or Whatever.” Apparently, THE COLBERT REPORT’s feed is handled by a frat boy with the social media savvy of a 10-year-old.

Showkiller Alert: With the axing of MIND GAMES, Christian Slater has landed himself on the toxic list. As if that weren’t bad enough, the void left by his show’s cancellation will be filled by CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP. Because apparently, we have to be punished for his inability to launch a show.

Least Impressive Space: After weeks of hearing about Terminus, it turned out THE WALKING DEAD destination was basically an outdoor Pottery Barn showroom. [Read more…]

Premiering tonight is the first of the 3-part mini-series KLONDIKE. In its first scripted series, Discovery Channel has struck gold. KLONDIKE tells the tale of two young men who travel to the remote tundra of the Yukon in the late 1800’s to seek their fortune. Despite great odds against them, they not only survived the brutal trek to the Klondike region, but they surprisingly thrived — for a time at least. [Read more…]

REVENGE Post-Mortem: Executive Producer Sunil Nayar Teases What’s Next Following Sunday’s Shocker!

December 16, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

In the ABC drama series REVENGE, even the best laid plans of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) are sure to go haywire once in a while and, unfortunately, for all her careful planning, something went very wrong on her honeymoon. Lydia (Amber Valletta)cornered Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) on the yacht, making Aiden (Barry Sloane) unable to secure Victoria while Emily was on deck setting the stage, and then Victoria took it upon herself to accost Emily on deck and heated incriminating words were exchanged — all to the horror of Daniel (Josh Bowman) who stood in the shadows hearing everything. He learned that the woman he had just married had been using him all along, and in his drunken, angry stupor, he shot Emily with the gun she had brought to stage her fake death incriminating Victoria.

That’s right folks, Daniel was the shooter. Having just found out about Sara’s (Annabelle Stephenson) suicide attempt, and that Emily had been using him to get back at his mother, he just shot her. The look on Emily’s face was equal parts guilt and horror. It was her own fault that this had come about. The stage had been set perfectly, but it fell apart because Daniel heard what he was never supposed to hear. That gun that was supposed to be just a prop was just too easy to use for real — and Emily was shot point blank in the chest and thrown back into the water.

With Aiden and Jack (Nick Wechsler) worriedly searching for her on the beach when she failed to make her prearranged rendezvous, the fate of Emily Thorne is not yet known. Does she survive the gunshot wounds? Does she eventually make it back to the buoy and the beach? Will Daniel remember his deadly actions after he finally sobers up? And what about Victoria? Does she have a clue what really happened on the deck after she left?

For those who saw the previews of REVENGE when it returns on January 5th, a few of those questions are answered. Emily does survive. But does she remember who she is? Is the amnesia real or faked?

In a recent press interview, executive producer Sunil Nayar gave the inside scoop on what’s next in the increasingly complicated world of REVENGE. [Read more…]

THE GOOD WIFE! THE VAMPIRE DIARIES! THE WALKING DEAD! GENERAL HOSPITAL! The TV Addict Week in Rewind

November 1, 2013 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Best Night Of Television: Between REVENGE, THE GOOD WIFE, MASTERS OF SEX and THE WALKING DEAD, Sunday night and a DVR could keep a TV lover happy for the entire week.

Oddest Tradition: “So,” asked THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Stefan of Mystic Falls’ Remembrance Day, “we have a holiday dedicated to burying people alive?” We’ll drink to that!

Tackiest Ads: Promos for the game Battlefield 4 feature gamers describing things like stabbing people, destroying and other horrors of war gleefully.

Worst Idea Ever: GLEE is considering Kurt to the virulently anti-gay Russia. Sorry, but a show that was too afraid to address teen drug abuse head-on when given the opportunity can’t be trusted with something so incredibly incendiary.

Best Halloween Costumes: GENERAL HOSPITAL’s cast donned some outrageously fun outfits, including badguy Faison, who did a dead-on impression of BEETLEJUICE!

Sweetest Rerun: Sunday night, FOX will air an episode of THE SIMPSONS from Season 3 that revolves around the late Marcia Wallace’s Springfield alter ego, the lovelorn Edna Krabappel. [Read more…]

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: This Summer’s Small Screen Surprises!

August 29, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt 2 Comments

DEVIOUS MAIDS poster

Summertime is an unusual time of year for television.  Major networks have shunned it for decades using it to rerun their top TV shows or to burn-off less successful TV shows. But as more and more cable networks began to prove that summer runs and launches of TV shows could carve out a nice chuck of the advertising revenue, the competition during summer months began to heat up.  CBS had a big summer with the Stephen King series “Under The Dome” (well, that is until the infamous CBS/Time Warner fee dispute blew up).  NBC dabbled with new summer shows with “Crossing Lines” and “Camp.”  ABC already cracked into the summer season a few years back with “Rookie Blue” and debuted its latest Canadian series “Motive” this summer as well.  Yet while the big 5 networks were still hesitant to jump in full-throttle with new original scripted programming, the cable networks continued to roll out new shows this summer.

With summer wrapping up with the close of August in just a few days, this is a good time to reflect back and celebrate a few notable new TV series that caught our attention and held it this summer: [Read more…]
