PaleyFest Fall TV Preview: Robbie Amell, Mark Pellegrino and Julie Plec Preview THE TOMORROW PEOPLE

By Sarah Stephens
The CW is determined to be the leader in genre programming. They’ve covered vampires, witches, werewolves, comic books superheroes and everything else under the spectrum. With the new pilot THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, premiering Wed, Oct 9th at 9pm, they’re taking on the next steps in human evolution. Based on a British series from the 70’s, the Tomorrow People are seemingly normal humans with latent “special powers” like telekinesis, teleportation and telepathy, which break out in their teens. Mix in a super-secret military organization hunting down the Tomorrow People, long dead family secrets coming to the surface and some pretty fun visual effects and you’ve got an entertaining new series.
But will THE TOMORROW PEOPLE stand out amongst a slew of new shows this fall and all the genre series already established? Time and some decent writing will tell. THE TOMORROW PEOPLE has a powerhouse team behind it in executive producers Greg Berlanti (ARROW), Julie Plec (VAMPIRE DIARIES) and director Danny Cannon (NIKITA). Not to mention a strong (and very attractive) cast lead by Robbie Amell (1600 PENN) staring as Steven Jameson and Mark Pellegrino (LOST, SUPERNATURAL) as antagonist Dr. Jedikiah Price. Series leads Robbie Amell and Mark Pellegrino joined Greg Berlanti, Julie Plec and Danny Cannon at the Paley Center Fall TV Preview for the CW in Beverly Hills. First, they stopped by the red carpet to chat with us on what THE TOMORROW PEOPLE is all about and to give some insight on what to expect from the first season. [Read more…]

GRIMM Preview: Star Bitsie Tulloch Gives the Inside Scoop on Season 3 and Previews Her Film “Parkland”

In the NBC dark fairytale series GRIMM, there are creatures which seemed to have stepped right out of one of your nightmares. But not all creatures are to be feared. Known as wesen, some are good and some are evil, just like their human counterparts. Having just found out about the wesen world, Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) also found out that he is a descendent of a special lineage known as Grimms. In the first couple of seasons of GRIMM, Nick’s fiancé Juliette was living blissfully unaware of the wesen world and the particular new duties of her fiancé outside of his detective work. But finally as the end of Season 2, Nick revealed his secret life and this other supernatural world to Juliette. Unfortunately, just as Juliette was beginning to take it all in stride and get used to the idea of living with wesen all around, up came a zombie apocalypse.
The Season 2 finale left our hero Nick entrapped and exposed to the zombie venom, with Juliette and their friends Monroe and Rosalee left to fend for themselves against the encroaching zombie mob. In an exclusive interview, co-star Bitsie Tulloch talked about what obstacles our heroes face in Season 3 and where the Nick/Juliette romance is headed in the midst of all these huge revelations. Bitsie also talked briefly about her new film “Parkland” which debuts in theaters on Friday, October 4th. [Read more…]
