A Fairytale Romance? We Preview GRIMM Season Two with Star Silas Weir Mitchell (feat. Scoop on What’s Up with Monroe and Rosalee!)

August 13, 2012 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

Last year’s biggest surprise and the first breakout sensation of the television season was NBC’s supernatural series GRIMM.  It invited viewers into a world where the Grimm fairytales were gruesomely real in our world today.  The unknowing Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) was thrown suddenly into this murky world upon his aunt’s death and suddenly people around him looked a lot different.  Some were distinctly non-human and he found out that there had been a multitude of creatures called Wesen living amongst us for centuries.  Fortunately for Nick, he quickly discovered one true ally in his quest to figure out what was going on and in his fight against the Wesen:  Monroe, the blutbat with a heart of gold.  In an exclusive interview, Silas Weir Mitchell shared what is next in the upcoming season for Monroe, Nick and all their friends. Today’s TV Addict Top 5: CW President Mark Pedowitz Dishes on Ratings, RINGER, THE L.A. COMPLEX & More!

July 30, 2012 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

On what went wrong with RINGER
Despite CW President Mark Pedowitz’s assertion that he loved being back in business with Sarah Michelle Gellar, a combination of story complexity and poor performance in both the online digital and social spaces was too much for RINGER to overcome. Said Pedowitz, “Sarah Michelle Gellar and I have had many discussions since Spring and the one thing we did come away with, when she’s ready, is that we’d love her to come back to The CW as an actor or a producer.”

On The CW’s sagging [overnight] ratings
Cementing our long-held belief that Nielsen ratings have never been more obsolete, Pedowitz was quick to defend his Networks viewership levels. As expected, more people than ever are tuning into The CW, they’re just doing it on the likes of hulu.com, thecw.com and the Network’s iPad app. To that end, Pedowitz recently made the decision to roll our a rebranding campaign this August that replaces the Networks’ dated tagline: TV to ‘talk/blog/tweet about,’ with ‘TV Now.’ [Read more…]

TCA 2012 Live Blog: REVOLUTION

July 24, 2012 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

2:09PM: “It’s a really compelling ‘What if?’ What would happen if we all lived without electricity in this technologically overextended world of ours,” said REVOLUTION creator Eric Kripe when asked about how much about the story is why the lights turn off in the first place. “But for me, epic fun sagas are always fun but character is everything. The journey of this family struggling to reunite against incredible adversity is intensely character driven.”

2:10PM: “Anything that throws a spark, circuits that carry electric charges, it’s that alone and everything expands from that. Batteries, spark plugs, engines…” was Kripke’s clarification when asked about what does and doesn’t turn on in the world of REVOLUTION. “We actually brought a physicist into the writer’s room, let him in on the big secret as to why it all happened and watched his face just light up. He never considered it, but said it’s amazing what we came up with, something that is actually quite plausible.”

2:13PM: For those of you already scratching your head as to why certain types of guns more technologically advanced than muskets seem to work, pay attention! The Monroe Republic has taken away the right to bare arms. Oh, and in terms of steam engines, all director Jon Favreau would say is, “Stay tuned!”

2:15PM: Director Jon Favreau credits the increasing number of restrictions around the movie industry with him jumping to television. Explained Favreau, “Audiences have a tremendous capacity for sophisticated story lines and you’re seeing a reopening on television for smart story lines.” [Read more…]

Ask the Addict: Spoilers for THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, SCANDAL, HART OF DIXIE, FALLING SKIES, ARROW & More!

July 19, 2012 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

Any scoop I can sink my teeth into to tide me over until THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ October return would be very much appreciated. — Marnie
The TV Addict: Move over SAVED BY THE BELL, Season Three of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES might as well be subtitled “The College Years!” At least in terms of Bonnie’s life, who according to reports will get a little too close to a brilliant and charming Professor (aren’t they all?) whose sad history drives an obsession with the occult, all things supernatural, and as luck would have it, a certain witch.

What is up with Kal and Tariq on THE L.A. COMPLEX? Tuesday’s season premiere was off-the-hook! — Luke
The TV Addict: Well, hold on to your hats, because the fun is just getting started. This Tuesday’s episode not only sees Abby in yet another ridiculously awkward situation on the set of Alan Thicke’s little-too-close-for-comfort family, but may in fact serve as somewhat of a turning point for Tariq and Kal. The latter of whom will finally come out to somebody. Of course, this being THE L.A. COMPLEX, that certain somebody is most certainly not who one would expect.

After this past weekends Comic Con in San Diego, I’m not sure I can wait until ARROW’s premiere. Any Scoop? — Nick
The TV Addict: Suffice it to say, when ARROW does premiere this Fall, star Stephen Amell will have his hands full. Case in point, the show’s third episode ominously titled “Lone Gunman” that sees producers currently casting for a thirty something assassin with a fondness for tattooing the names of the men he has killed over his body. Ouch! [Read more…]

Ask the Addict: Spoilers for HART OF DIXIE, GREY’S ANATOMY, THE OFFICE, ARROW, SMASH & More!

July 12, 2012 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

What kind of Comic Con coverage can we expect from theTVaddict.com this year? — Dylan
The TV Addict: An exhausting amount thanks to our West Coast Correspondent extraordinaire Tiffany Vogt, who alongside her team will attempt to hit up the press rooms of many of your favorite shows including: PSYCH, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, ELEMENTARY, NIKITA, CULT, ARROW, HAVEN, FALLING SKIES, TEEN WOLF, SPARTACUS, WAREHOUSE 13, GRIMM, THE FOLLOWING, ONCE UPON A TIME, PERSON OF INTEREST, REVOLUTION, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, LOST GIRL, MERLIN, FRINGE, SUPERNATURAL and DOCTOR WHO. Needless to stay, stay tuned to theTVaddict.com all weekend long for exclusive photos and video as fast as I can edit it!

Any word on what’s in store for the denizens of Bluebell following last season’s very eventful HART OF DIXIE finale? — Jane
The TV Addict: Suffice it to say, the aftermath of George and Lemon failing to make it down the aisle will be front and center when HART OF DIXIE kicks off its much-anticipated second season this Fall. In typical Lemon fashion, the former bride-to-be will take the implosion of her relationship with George as a sign that it’s time for her to grow up, move out of her father Brick’s house and get her very first paying job at of all places the Rammer Jammer! And speaking of Bluebell’s most infamous watering hole, expect Wade to waste little time in making his intentions with Zoe clear, who sadly, will be forced to go back to square one in terms of assimilating herself into the tight-knit town now that all of her progress has been for naught following her presumed role as “home-wrecker” in the destruction of George and Lemon’s happily ever after.

Would love some news on my favorite fictional family, the Bravermans. — Allie
The TV Addict: Since TVGuide.com has already let it slip that eldest daughter Haddie will very soon be leaving the nest for College, you may be pleased to discover that the Bravermans are adding another bundle of joy to their brood. No, Adam and Kristina will not be having another child, but rather will consider giving Max a friend of the four-legged variety! Which should certainly add some fun to PARENTHOOD’s second episode back next. [Read more…]
