John’s Journal

According to Props Master Chris Cooper, John’s journal was created for the pilot and then brought to the Vancouver Props Department as it was. Throughout the years they have simply maintained it, added more pages as called for by the scripts and updated it. But otherwise, it’s exactly as it was in the pilot.

SUPERNATURAL Preview: Sheriff Donna Calls on the Winchesters For Help

November 11, 2015 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

Sam and Dean headed off to find and kill Amara in the most recent episode of SUPERNATURAL. But, of course, they failed to do so. They did, however, discover that Crowley has been working with her and she seems incredibly reluctant to allow any harm to come to Dean. She’s also done with Crowley keeping her captive, so it appears that the Darkness really has been unleashed on the world.

Meanwhile, Castiel tracked down Metatron and beat some information about the Darkness out of him. It was a doozy, because Metatron revealed that in order to create the world God had to betray and sacrifice his own kin — the Darkness, his sister. What does this mean for how to defeat it? We don’t yet know. But it certainly sets the scene for God’s possible return. And Sam has been having visions of Lucifer’s cage….in Hell!

On next week’s SUPERNATURAL, Sheriff Donna calls on the Winchester brothers when a murder in her town has strange, supernatural elements (see: potential ghost-possessed person wearing a giant bunny head in the preview below). And when Sam asks God for help with his continued visions, Dean isn’t happy about the path is brother is going down.

SUPERNATURAL: Misha Collins Talks Castiel, Heaven and the Darkness

November 11, 2015 By Clarissa 1 Comment

supernatural

Castiel heads off to find Metatron in this week’s SUPERNATURAL. While Dean convinces Sam they should just confront Amara head-on in the episode, Castiel goes to track down the former Scribe of God in the hopes that he can provide valuable intelligence about the Darkness. He manages to find the former angel and even musters up some sympathy for his current predicament — although, that won’t stop him from punching him. But what else is coming for Cas? During a recent visit to the set of SUPERNATURAL, Misha Collins cryptically teased upcoming secrets, Cas’ disconnect from Heaven, whether Cas will be picking up any new allies and the nature of the Darkness.

With Hannah now dead and Heaven in some disarray, will Cas be our conduit to Heaven? “Cas is alienated, very much, from Heaven and its machinations. In fact, in the episode we’re shooting right now we learn that Cas is pretty much reviled by everyone in Heaven.” He doesn’t have the inside scoop about what the winged characters are up to in Heaven, which certainly won’t be useful if they need to side with the angels against the Darkness.

We also saw Cas help the Winchesters in “Baby” and he was binging Netflix in the bunker in the most recent episode, but how much will he be helping the brothers going forward? Collins was cryptic about spoilers, but he did warn that we won’t be seeing a lot of that. “I feel like that dynamic where Cas is helping the boys and we’re going to solve problems [together] is always a short-lived one. I think that things, generally speaking, fall apart sooner or later and somebody is lying to someone else and there’s subterfuge and dissembling and everything is sort of dysfunctional. So that’s where we’re heading.” Yikes!

Meanwhile, Cas and Crowley were locked in a fight to the death as season 10 ended, although Crowley did manage to escape with his life. Now that Cas is obviously aware that he didn’t kill the King of Hell, what’s the dynamic like between them? “It’s complicated, I would say. Cas sort of realizes that he didn’t kill Crowley [in the season premiere] and I think that realization for him is kind of conflicted. Cas is not actually totally thrilled that Crowley is still alive.”

Will Cas be picking up any new allies? Yes, but Collins wouldn’t elaborate, so we’re left to speculate.

Padalecki and Ackles shared their own thoughts on the nature of the Darkness and whether their characters believe it is inherently evil (watch here), so we posed the same question to Collins, who seemed to think Cas felt more clear-cut about the primordial force. “I think that we all think that there’s a certain inherent darkness to the Darkness. A certain evil there.”

SUPERNATURAL Sneak Peek: Off the Bench

November 11, 2015 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

supernatural

Castiel is getting back in the action in this week’s SUPERNATURAL. After spending a few weeks recuperating, it looks like it’s time to get back to work.

It appears that the Winchester brothers have stuck around the town of their last case in the hope that they could find more of Amara’s victims and track her. But all of that is leading to a dead end. So Sam suggests that they recruit Castiel to help out. And he’s going to do that by tracking down Metatron. But will Metatron hand over some actual information about the Darkness or just use the opportunity to screw with Cas again?

Meanwhile, it looks like Dean and Sam end up catching a break because according to photos from the episode they will definitely be encountering Amara.

SUPERNATURAL: Mark Sheppard Talks Crowley, Amara, Hell, Rowena, Dean and the Fans

November 10, 2015 By Clarissa 2 Comments

supernatural

The self-proclaimed King of Hell, Crowley, is the one character you should never underestimate on SUPERNATURAL. AIn fact, he’s probably the one villain who never underestimated his opponents, which is likely why he’s lasted when all other villains have fallen prey to the Winchesters. Always one to manipulate an opportunity to his favor, Crowley recently found Amara — the manifestation of the newly released Darkness — and brought her into the fold. But can he control her for long? That’s the question that will be answered when Crowley returns to the show in this week’s episode. And during a recent visit to the set of SUPERNATURAL in Vancouver, we spoke with Mark Sheppard about the King of Hell, his relationship with Amara, whether Crowley has any fears and the show’s remarkable fans.

“I think Crowley is the first person to notice what Amara is. Or what she might be,” Sheppard said cryptically when asked about Crowley’s newest ally. But is he frightened of this primordial force? “I don’t think Crowley is afraid of anybody. I think he’s very cautious and wary. And always believes that there is never a situation that he can’t control or get out of.”

Related: Misha Collins teases Castiel’s reunion with Metatron

In the season premiere we got wind of some rumblings in Lucifer’s cage. But don’t think that has Crowley worried either. If the Darkness can’t scare him, then Luci doesn’t either. What does have the power to worry him is the perception that the “peasants are revolting”. He’s unhappy that rumblings in the cage could mean “we’re back to the Abaddon situation, where there’s going to be perceptions of difficulty in the old homestead.”

Regarding the ongoing feud between Rowena and Crowley, Sheppard thinks that Crowley still hasn’t forgotten the predicament his mother left him in at the end of season 10. But will he kill her? That’s to be determined. Certainly Crowley is looking out for himself, but if Rowena proves herself valuable to his agenda then he may be fine with keeping her around…for the time being, at least.

As for the bromance between Dean and Crowley, Dean may have distanced himself from his former demon buddy but “it’s not over until Crowley says it’s over”. And what is it about Dean that fascinates Crowley so much? “He makes different choices from Crowley. He has loyalties that don’t make any sense to Crowley whatsoever. I mean, they sort of do and they sort of don’t. He’s a great representation of what he is.”

As a final reminder, never forget that Crowley is a dangerous demon with a plan. “It’s not all karaoke and foosball [with him],” Sheppard warned.

Watch our full interview with Sheppard below and don’t miss an all new episode of SUPERNATURAL on November 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

SUPERNATURAL Photos: Cas is on the Hunt for Metatron

November 5, 2015 By Clarissa Leave a Comment

spn

Does Metatron have information that could help the Winchester and their allies defeat the Darkness? That’s definitely a question that will be addressed in an upcoming episode of SUPERNATURAL.

In an upcoming episode, titled “Our Little World”, Castiel is on a mission to track down Metatron for help fighting the season’s big bad. It turns out that, since we last saw him, Metatron has become a freelance videographer for the local news and is settling in as a human. He’s also not that eager to help the Winchesters or Castiel. But does he actually know exactly how God and the archangels were able to lock away the Darkness and can he be “persuaded” to give up that valuable intel?

Related: Misha Collins talks Cas’ reunion with Metatron

Meanwhile, Crowley has been trying to endear himself to Amara in order to become her ally (and, presumably, avoid becoming a casualty whenever she embarks on her plans for the world), but he’s going to be losing his hold on the rapidly-aging girl. And Dean and Sam will be on the hunt for Amara.
