Life in the steamy city of New Orleans has taken a decidedly darker turn after last week’s cliffhanger revealing that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is missing yet again.  In addition, the Mikaelson brothers have shown in true bloody fashion that they will not tolerate any attacks on their family or Klaus’ baby-mama.  Everyone likes to think of Elijah (Daniel Gillies) as the gentlemanly and honorable brother, but they forgot his true nature — he will protect his family as viciously as his brother Klaus (Joseph Morgan).  It will always be blood over honor for the Mikaelsons.  But decisiveness and brutality is not going to keep Hayley safe if they are always leaving her unprotected.  [Read more…]

THE ORIGINALS Scoop: Danielle Campbell Teases The Uprising of Davina’s Power

November 11, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

What is a 16-year old witch to do when her own family wants to kill her as a sacrifice to their elders? Fortunately, for Davina (Danielle Campbell) a compassionate vampire Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) came to her rescue — and just in the nick of time. But in an interesting twist of fate, that opportune moment was just when Davina has absorbed all the power of the three other witch sacrifices that was supposed to be used to help bridge her family’s coven with their long-departed ancestors — a bridge that would have made the witches’ elders more powerful than ever.  But only if the four witches had completed the sacrifice.  So Davina was rescued, Marcel found himself in possession with one of the most powerful witches alive, and the power of the universe was left at Davina’s disposal.  In Davina’s mind this is as it should be, as she just wants to be a girl and not a witch, and if the harvest is not completed by her death, then the power within her dissipates and returns into the universe.  But will she be tempted by the power coursing through her veins and seek to find a way to keep that power for herself?

As executive producer Julie Plec foreshadowed in last week’s press conference, “The journey that [Davina’s] going on is just beginning.  She is about to embark on a journey that will sort of put her at odds with everyone and create some new surprisingly new friendships and new alliances that we maybe did not see coming.”

During a special set visit coordinated and provided for courtesy of Warner Bros. Television, co-star Danielle Campbell talked about Davina’s chaffing under the control of both Marcel and Elijah and her upcoming attempt to take her own power back. [Read more…]

THE ORIGINALS Scoop: Daniel Gillies Talks What Elijah Sees In Hayley and His Monster Within

November 9, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt 1 Comment

From the beginning of THE ORIGINALS, there was just a hint of perhaps more than a brotherly interest by Elijah (Daniel Gillies, pictured above with Tiffany Vogt) in Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), the werewolf baby-momma of his indifferent brother, Klaus (Joseph Morgan).  But that hint has begun to look like more distinct romantic interest when Elijah returned from his brief time away in Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) coffin and actively began to hover more protectively around Hayley and unborn child.

In last week’s press conference, Executive Producer Julie Plec admitted, “There’s definitely something. Elijah, as we know, is a good protector and tends to be drawn to people in spite of himself.”  To which her co-executive producer Michael Narducci added, “What a great fantasy Elijah is to someone like Hayley? How could she not be drawn to this protective and noble man? Something she’s never seen before.”  But as a sign that their budding romance maybe thwarted, Julie further noted, “It’s very clear that [Klaus] is very territorial — that he likes what is his to remain his.  So I have a feeling that we’ll stir up a lot of conflicted emotions for him as well.”

During a special set visit coordinated and provided for courtesy of Warner Bros. Television, star Daniel Gillies gave a bit of insight into what is going on in Elijah’s head and heart as to Hayley. [Read more…]

HAVEN Central: Part Two of Our Exclusive Interviews with Star Eric Balfour and Writer Shernold Edwards On Season 4’s Surprises

November 8, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

As HAVEN fans saw in last week’s episode “Crush,” Duke (Eric Balfour) and Jennifer’s (Emma Lahana) relationship took a decidedly romantic turn. For the girl who kept hearing voices in her head, which helped in rescuing Audrey (Emily Rose), Jennifer has become an integral part of their everyday HAVEN lives. She even joined the Haven Herald as a cub reporter and has called Duke’s boat home. After all they had gone through, including the near murderous attack by Duke’s brother Wade (Christian Camargo), it was hardly a wonder that some feelings had been triggered. But as Duke and Jennifer finally kissed in last week’s episode, that was no mere tentative embrace. It was full on roaring passion and television screens were simmering from the heat. But just what does that mean? Is Duke’s proclaimed love for Audrey now gone and is he finally moving on? [Read more…]

We Shine the Spotlight on ANGER MANAGEMENT and HART OF DIXIE Star Laura Bell Bundy

November 7, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

Well known for her country singing prowess, Laura Bell Bundy is also demonstrating her comedy chops on two different television shows this year. She has made a memorable appearance on the CW series HART OF DIXIE as Shelby, who first dated George Tucker (Scott Porter) and then turned her amorous affections on Brick Breeland (Tim Matheson). Then in a stroke of good fortune, Laura was also cast this year in the FX comedy series ANGER MANAGEMENT, playing opposite Charlie Sheen as a psychologist with issues of her own. In a recent exclusive interview, Laura candidly shared all the fun she is having working on both shows and how neither has put a crimp in her also very active singing career. [Read more…]

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE Scoop: Madeleine Mantock Talks Astrid’s Next Move

November 6, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

Being the best friend to a superhero is never easy.  In the case of Astrid Finch (Madeleine Mantock), it is even harder as she did not know her friend Stephen (Robbie Amell) was a superhero — that is until the day she literally saw him disappear into thin air.  You have to give Astrid credit, she was smart enough to simply ask him.  Unfortunately, Stephen was not ready to admit to his super-special abilities just yet.  Whether he was just trying to protect Astrid, or he did not think she could handle knowing that he was part of an evolved species, Stephen’s denial and attempt to keep Astrid in the “safe zone” is about to backfire.  For once someone knows about the Tomorrow People, there is no going back.  Astrid may not know that there is an entire species at war with the humans and fighting for their survival, but she definitely knows that reality as she knew it does not exist in the same way anymore.  In a recent exclusive interview, co-star Madeleine Mantock talked about what is going through Astrid’s mind and what her next move may be. THE ORIGINALS Scoop: EPs Julie Plec and Michael Narducci Tease Elijah’s Blossoming Feelings for Hayley and Whether Brotherly Love Can Stand the Heat

November 5, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

As if the world of the CW’s sizzling vampire series THE ORIGINALS could not get any hotter or more suspenseful, this week’s episode entitled “Fruit of the Poisoned Tree” delivers exactly that.  For as shown in last week’s episode “Saints and Sinners,” all is not what it seems in the brewing war between the vampires and witches of New Orleans — apparently Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) had better intentions than anyone suspected when he liberated Davina (Danielle Campbell) from her deadly fate as a witches’ sacrifice.

In a recent press screening of the episode, executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci revealed a few candid teasers about what lies ahead for Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and baby-mama Haley (Phoebe Tonkin), as well as what is going on with the seemingly scheming Marcel and his wicked witch Davina. In the breakout hit of the Fall 2013 season, Fox’s new supernatural adventure series SLEEPY HOLLOW has introduced a new kind of hero — one from the 18th Century and who is not afraid to face unknown creatures and perhaps a headless horseman or two.  In a recent press conference call, star Tom Mison shared insight into the romantic hero of Ichabod Crane as seen through a modern lens.
