LUTHER Season 3 Preview: John Luther’s Worst Nightmare Comes To Life

September 3, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

After the previous two seasons of LUTHER, it is hard to imagine how things could get any worse for Detective Inspector John Luther (Idris Elba). He lost his wife, his best friend, tested his sanity, nearly cost him his job, and he was nearly framed for a murder; not to mention all the heinous criminals that seemed intent on destroying his last bit of sanity.  Yet Season 3 is going to take John Luther to the brink yet again — and this time it might push him over. HAVEN Central: Our Journey to Discover HAVEN on the Set in Chester, Nova Scotia

haven set nova scotia

HAVEN may have started out as a supernatural television series based on the Stephen King novella “The Colorado Kid,” but within the three seasons that it has aired on Syfy, it has become so much more.  It introduced viewers and fans to its heroine Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) and the mystery of who Audrey really is.  Each episode offered another layer to the curious case of Audrey Parker and the women who she may have been in her other lives: Sarah, Lucy and now Lexie.  Teased by the mysteries and the “troubles” woven into the HAVEN tapestry of stories, the show captured viewers’ attention and hearts.  It was a delightfully slow seduction and one which fans are delighted to be enthralled by. CONTINUUM: A Powerful Second Season Concludes Its Eventful Journey

continuum cast

Falling in love with TV shows is a wonderful feeling.  There’s the rush of tingling excitement over each new episode.  Earlier this year, Syfy debuted the first season of the Canadian sci-fi series CONTINUUM and I fell head over heels.  I loved the idea of a time-traveling series with the heroine stuck in our present day trying to get back to her future and having to keep her identity a secret.  There was a sense that everything could be snatched away from her for a second time as she struggled to maintain some kind of life as a police officer and making tentative friends and allies.  So as we followed Detective Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), we grew more immersed in her intriguing world straddling the police department dilemmas with her partner Det. Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster) and her attempts to find a way home with the aid of a young teen super-genius, Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen). [Read more…]

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: This Summer’s Small Screen Surprises!

August 29, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt 2 Comments

DEVIOUS MAIDS poster

Summertime is an unusual time of year for television.  Major networks have shunned it for decades using it to rerun their top TV shows or to burn-off less successful TV shows. But as more and more cable networks began to prove that summer runs and launches of TV shows could carve out a nice chuck of the advertising revenue, the competition during summer months began to heat up.  CBS had a big summer with the Stephen King series “Under The Dome” (well, that is until the infamous CBS/Time Warner fee dispute blew up).  NBC dabbled with new summer shows with “Crossing Lines” and “Camp.”  ABC already cracked into the summer season a few years back with “Rookie Blue” and debuted its latest Canadian series “Motive” this summer as well.  Yet while the big 5 networks were still hesitant to jump in full-throttle with new original scripted programming, the cable networks continued to roll out new shows this summer.

With summer wrapping up with the close of August in just a few days, this is a good time to reflect back and celebrate a few notable new TV series that caught our attention and held it this summer: [Read more…]

barry sloane revenge

When we left off in the Season 2 cliffhanger ending, the fate of Aiden Mathis was up in the air as Daniel had reached for Emily’s gun and we only saw Daniel wearing a bloodied shirt later back at the Graysons.  So it was thought that he may have killed Aiden.  But at the recent ABC Disney TCA party, star Barry Sloane candidly shared that Aiden’s fate is not so settled yet. Two Vamps and a Baby! Phoebe Tonkin Talks Up THE ORIGINALS

August 20, 2013 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

the originals cast cw

With stints on THE SECRET CIRCLE and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES actress Phoebe Tonkin is no stranger to supernatural series on The CW. That said, what the amazing Aussie import is a stranger to is motherhood! Which is just one of the many reasons fans can’t wait to see how her character Hayley deals with being pregnant on the upcoming first season of THE ORIGINALS. Another reason, well, Hayley isn’t just expecting any child, but none other than the spawn of Klaus! Which raises the slightly awkward albeit painfully obvious question: What does being a “Teen Mom” mean for Hayley and how might this affect her character’s relationships with the rest of those titular Originals. Tonkin teases a few things after the jump. [Read more…]
