In defending her cheating ways with Baze, Cate actually went as far as to take a page from Ross “We were on a break!” Geller’s playbook by telling Ryan, “I didn’t want to hurt you… You and I weren’t together, we had gotten on the fight on the dock and broke up… I just thought that Lux was going to be a dealbreaker for you. I’m just saying….. technically you and I were not together.”

Review: PARENTHOOD
By: Aleks Chan
With its sprawling cast of familiar faces and its headline making production troubles, I was somewhat predisposed to like PARENTHOOD, NBC’s second remake of the 1989 Ron Howard film of the same name, which starred Steve Martin and Dianne Wiest. This version, headed by Howard, Brian Grazer and Jason Katims (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS), has suffered a string of unfortunate setbacks: Programming executive Nora O’Brien died on the set from a possible aneurysm, and star Maura Tierney (ER) had to drop out after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The latter pushed the drama into midseason, with GILMORE GIRLS’ Lauren Graham taking the role in her stead.
The Bravermans are the kind of affluent, purpely-blue-tinged clan that has become standard in this type of show – an almost hierarchal adherence to placing all romantic and emotional entanglements in a tax bracket decidedly much higher than the bulk of its viewers. There are fine performances abound and though there is little to differentiate this show from the boundless other family melodramas currently on air or to have ever aired (BROTHERS & SISTERS quickly come to mind), it remains a likeable, if uninspired hour that easily outranks NBC’s current drama lineup. (A feat possibly made less impressive knowing that this includes HEROES and MERCY.)
Morning Static: LOST, Dustin Hoffman, DANCING WITH THE STARS & More!
• LOST + THE SIMPSONS = THE LOSTIES
• Pilot Watch: Julie Benz, Adrianne Palicki, Mehcad Brooks and Jaime King sign onto pilots.
• HBO gets lucky, Dustin Hoffman signs onto cabler’s horseracing drama pilot from Michael Mann and David Milch.
• Buzz & Kate Plus Eight… other big names including Evan Lysacek, Shannon Doherty and Pamela Anderson who have signed on for the tenth season of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
First Look: Love is in the Air for UGLY BETTY’s Justin and Betty!
On the March 17th edition of UGLY BETTY, love is in the air. Specifically for Justin, who depending on your interpretation of the episode log-line: “Finds himself in an unexpected triangle with his new pals Austin and Lily,” may-or-may-not-be making good on creator Silvia Horta’s promise that Justin’s sexuality will be addressed prior to the end of the series. Meanwhile, in more definitive relationship news is Betty, who finds herself very smitten with a cool young playwright Zachary (GOSSIP GIRL’s Aaron Tveit) who she’s set to profile for Mode. More very spoilerific photos of which can be found after the jump.
Question of the Day

According to the Canadian Nielsen equivalent (BBM Canada), a staggering 50% of the country watched Sidney Crosby et al defeat the United States in breathtaking fashion (read: overtime) to win the only medal that mattered Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s hockey. Which naturally begs the question: Combining the knowledge gleaned from Sunday’s Closing Ceremonies (Moose, and mounties, and beavers! Oh, my!) along with the usual array of stereotypes perpetuated by the likes of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, what on earth do we think the other half of the country was doing?
Say What? Our TV Quote of the Day!
“The only thing that will save this show would be to referee the Tiger vs. Elin dispute,” said theTVaddict.com commentator Barry Shaffer on the one thing that might get him to tune into THE MARRIAGE REF following Sunday’s less-than-funny premiere.

Twitter Users Save NBC!
After spending 30 minutes mocking NBC’s God-awful THE MARRIAGE REF last night, Twitter users took pity upon the network by banding together in an attempt to help it come up with something… well, watchable. The idea was spearheaded by @DustyTrice, who kicked things off with a tweet saying, “NBC will greenlight any show pitched. We need to develop a show for @NBC. Right now. On Twitter.” What followed was a slew of suggestions, some of which you can see after the jump.

AMERICAN IDOL: The Top 20 By the Numbers
Your Top 20 Ranked by Social Media Popularity
While actual talent, singing ability and stage presence may play a small part in who will be named your next American Idol, the not-so-ugly-fact of the matter is that the success and/or failure of a contestant on America’s most-watched singing competition very often boils down to nothing more than popularity. Like High School, it’s not what, but rather who and how many people (on facebook!) you know. Which is why all season long theTVaddict.com will be posting a weekly mashup of the remaining contestants popularity on their official show-sanctioned twitter, facebook and myspace accounts in a new feature we like to call AMERICAN IDOL: By The Numbers.
