Dispatches From The Couch: The Big Lie
You may not be aware of it, but ABC is taking a page from Emily Thorne’s book in its attempt to seek REVENGE against your DVR. And in publicizing their efforts to get you to watch the seductive sudser live, the network may have helped expose what I believe to be one of the biggest cover-ups since the ones investigated by Mulder and Scully.
I’ve long believed that Nielsen — you know, those evil people who measure the viewing habits of a ridiculously-small portion of the population to basically decide whether our favorite shows will live or die — is comprised of people who are better spin doctors than those employed by either major political party.
In other words, they’re big, fat liars. [Read more…]

SCANDAL Scoop: Kerry Washington Dishes on Her Sexy Presidential Tryst and Teases Tonight’s First Season Finale
If you saw last week’s penultimate episode of SCANDAL, you know exactly what everyone has been talking about. Was it the fact that Gideon Wallace was stabbed in the neck by a pair of scissors by the Vice President’s scheming aid? Was it the reveal that the sex tape sent to the President was from 2 years earlier recording Olivia and Fitz’s first intimate encounter? No, what caught everyone’s attention was the sizzling, hot and oh-so-sexy scene where Presidential candidate Fitz Grant seduced Olivia. Then just as breath-taking was the intimacy with which they held each other in the final moments of the episode knowing that the days when no one was looking were over and they would never have any more stolen moments together. In an exclusive interview Kerry Washington talked about filming the challenges of filming those memorable scenes, and the possible ramifications for both Olivia and Fitz now that their secret is about to come out. LAST RESORT
According to the Official ABC Description: 500 feet beneath the ocean’s surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receive their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they’re told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan.
Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.
Why We’re Excited: Proof positive that ABC isn’t just in the business of catering to women comes this adrenaline-fuelled action adventure from the THE SHIELD’s Shawn Ryan. More exciting still, the all-star ensemble that includes Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Dichen Lachman, Autumn Reeser, Jessy Schram and Robert Patrick.
Why We Probably Shouldn’t Let Our Excitement Get the Better of Us: Forgetting for a moment that Thursday at 8PM has not exactly been the most hospitable of time slots for freshman ABC series as of late, there’s the obvious question as to whether or not LAST RESORT can possibly keep up with the high standards set by what sure looks to be one helluva pricey pilot. TERRA NOVA anyone? [Read more…]
Trailerpalooza: Your First Look at CBS’s Fall Offerings including PARTNERS, VEGAS, ELEMENTARY & MADE IN JERSEY
Can Johnny Lee Miller do for ELEMENTARY what Benedict Cumberbatch did for SHERLOCK? Are David Krumholtz and Michael Urie the new WILL & GRACE? Can MADE IN JERSEY finally make Janet Montgomery into the star she so richly deserves to be? In announcing their new slate of shows at their annual Upfront this week in New York City, CBS certainly hopes so. But hey, don’t take our word for it, see for yourself, after the jump. [Read more…]
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with SUBURGATORY Star Parker Young
Between recently being on the receiving end of a much-deserved second season pick-up, to tonight’s Mother’s Day themed episode, everything really is coming up roses for SUBURGATORY star Parker Young. Which is probably why the affable actor, better known around these parts as Ryan “The Body” Shay, was only too happy to take some time out of his busy schedule to chat up tonight’s season finale appropriately titled “The Motherload,” in addition to what surprises are in store for his small screen family as a result of sister Lisa’s (Allie Grant) snooping. See for yourself, after the jump. [Read more…]
