Just like in the children’s tale of the “little engine that could,” CHUCK was a television show that kept on chugging away against all odds and carved out a place in television history by running five seasons on the sheer will-power of its fans. Millions of Subway sandwiches later, the fans are still passionately devoted to their show. Having coined the phrases: Nerd Herd, Buy More and Captain Awesome, as well as creating a whole new dialect comprised of “the Intersect”, “flashes” and “Jeffster” and redefining what it means when a TV show is “on the bubble,” CHUCK is now legendary. It not only created a universally-accepted and widely used lexicon, CHUCK also introduced characters which fans fell in love with from around the globe. As the cast will soon discover, fans are not quick to forget their beloved characters and the names: Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, Big Mike, Jeff, Lester, and General Beckman are sure to follow the actors throughout the rest of their careers. It is thus with fondness, warm hearts and more memories than we can count, that CHUCK celebrates its 2-hour series finale. Perhaps one day, fans across the world will ask each other, “Where were you when CHUCK ended?” Perhaps this ending is not as momentous as other world events, but for fans who have faithfully followed the series for the past 5 years, the end will be both heartbreaking and cheer-worthy — and, as any fan knows, the end is just the beginning. CHUCK’s fans share a passion and a collective love of life that cannot be suppressed. With the availability of DVD’s, fan sites and all the friendship that have blossomed from a common interest in the show, CHUCK is about to be immortalized — as it should be! [Read more…]

Which is why, when given the opportunity to chat with star AJ Cook yesterday — whose character of media liaison turned profiler JJ Jareau is responsible for having taken fans on quite an interesting journey over the course of the show’s 150 episodes — we jumped at the chance. The result, a handful of snappy answers to some silly questions that may-or-may-not reveal the CRIMINAL MINDS cast member guilty of spending far too much time scarfing down grilled cheese sandwiches at Craft Services. Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Reasons We’ve Fallen Head Over Heels in Love with SWITCHED AT BIRTH
While most people reading this would give an arm and a leg to attend the Television Critics Association Press Tour — a bi-annual event that affords those who cover the industry the unique opportunity to hobnob with the actors, writers and executives who help create it — the unfortunate fact of the matter is that a never-ending parade of panels and parties is more often than not, not nearly as much fun as it sounds. That said, every once in a while a little gem of a show comes along that reminds us as to why we’re so lucky to be covering this business we affectionally refer to as show. This past TCA, that show was ABC Family’s SWITCHED AT BIRTH, a truly compelling series that tells the story of what happens when two teen girls (one deaf, one hearing) discover that they were, as the title suggests, switched at birth. But just what got us so enamored with a series that we immediately devoured Volume One on DVD on the flight home from TCA? Find out for yourself, after the jump. [Read more…]

The CW’s [GREEN] ARROW: Let’s Cast the Pilot!
Attention SMALLVILLE fans who have been patiently waiting for the CW to come to their senses and simply hand over the titular role in their proposed [GREEN] ARROW reboot to heir apparent Justin Hartley: Don’t hold your breath! Or at least that was our main takeaway after getting a glimpse of a just released casting breakdown that mysteriously found its way into our inbox late last night.
What’s more, since we’ve always been a big proponent of the old adage “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em,” we thought rather than continue to bemoan what we can’t control, we’d have a little fun by choosing our dream cast for what sure looks to be shaping up to be a fantastic reboot. See for yourself, after the jump. [Read more…]
