DROP DEAD DIVA Redux: A Tale of Three Angels and One Little Devil

June 30, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

drop-dead-diva-cast-lifetime

The fifth season of DROP DEAD DIVA returned with a few tears and a few heavenly twists.  In last week’s returning episode, “Back From the Dead,” we watched with sadness as Jane’s (Brooke Elliott) guardian angel Luke (Carter MacIntryre) was suddenly recalled to Heaven for failing to keep Jane and Grayson (Jackson Hurst) apart.  This was a vivid reminder of how unforgiving Heaven can be with mistakes.  Just like his predecessor Fred (Ben Feldman), who revealed his true identity to Stacy (April Bowlby) and got yanked back to Heaven; when Luke similarly failed in one of his primary duties, he was recalled as well.  This opened the door for DROP DEAD DIVA’s newest angel, Paul (Justin Deeley).  Heaven giveth and Heaven taketh away. PERCEPTION Season 2 Scoop Straight From the Set: Welcome to the World of Dr. Pierce’s Imagination

June 25, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

Last summer introduced viewers to the wondrous world of Dr. Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), a neuropsychiatrist working as a professor at Chicago Lake Michigan College and in his spare time as an expert consultant for the FBI.  Paired with his former student, Special Agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook), they delve into the mysteries of the mind and the criminals that may or may not be afflicted by neuropsychiatric disorders.  However, as was revealed fairly quickly, Dr. Pierce struggles himself each day with distinguishing what is real and not real.  Diagnosed as a highly-functioning schizophrenic, Dr. Pierce uses his unusual medical condition to perceive realities and truths that a normal functioning brain may not; and so perceptionally-enhanced, Dr. Pierce and Agent Morreti make a phenomenal crime-solving team.  [Read more…]

Mid-Season TV Preview: THE FOLLOWING

January 21, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

the following cast fox

Let me just say this:  I loved THE FOLLOWING.  It offers some of the best which television has to offer in casting, storylines, suspense, drama, and complicated heroes and villains.  But, that being said, it is not an easy show to watch. It is, after all, a show about serial killers.  And we’re not talking about the warm and fuzzy kind from another well-known Showtime series.  In THE FOLLOWING, these killers are the kind that will give you nightmares. Winter TCA 2013 Wrap-Up: Renewals, Revelations and Surprise Kisses!

January 18, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

Now that the Winter 2013 Television Critic’s Association Press Tour is finally over, it seemed like a good time to recall some of the choice moments over the 14-day star-studded event.  Since it would be nearly impossible to recount all the stand-out moments and all the cool shows upcoming this year, we have selected only a few to showcase.

The Kiss
Nothing was more buzzed about than the unexpected kiss between stars Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy at the Fox panel for THE FOLLOWING.  It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but truly you had to have been there for the impact of that memorable moment to be felt.  The ease with Kevin Back just casually leaned over and planted a kiss on his co-star was a testament to the strong bond between them.  Viewers may be buzzing about the underlying sexual energy between their characters on screen in THE FOLLOWING, but that kiss was a pure delight for those who got to see it in person. So does anyone remember that THE FOLLOWING is a show about serial killers at this point?  (THE FOLLOWING makes its debut on Monday, January 21st at 9PM on Fox.) [Read more…]

JUSTIFIED Season 4 Video Preview: A Preacher, A Con Man and A Killer Walk Into a Bar!

January 15, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

justified_cast

We may not know when the “snake in the grass” will strike, but evil has come once again to Harlan County in the FX drama series JUSTIFIED.  As if Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) did not have enough to worry about with a baby on the way and the baby-momma Winona (Natalie Zea) refusing to have anything to do with him, more trouble has found its way to Raylan’s doorstep.  But this time, he is not alone – the ill winds of change have caught Boyd Browder (Walton Goggins) and Ava (Joelle Carter) up in its midst as well.

Just who is the Preacher Billy St. Cryr (Joe Mazzello) and what does he want with the folk of Harlan?  At this point Billy looks to be just as he appears, he is a preacher through and through and just wants to save the lost souls of those thought to be beyond hope and redemption.  But the same cannot be said of Billy’s scheming sister Cassie (Lindsay Pulsipher), who has other things in mind – namely to fleece each and every one of Billy’s wayward flock before moving on to the next unsuspecting town.

So if that’s the preacher and the con man, who is the killer?  Ah, that is the big mystery of the season.  Just how did the body of Waldo come to fall in the midst of the cul-de-sac suburb decades ago?  And who is Waldo?  In this week’s episode “Where’s Waldo?” plenty of answers will be provided about that big mystery that will lead Raylan on a merry-chase.

At the recent Season 4 premiere, stars Joelle Carter, Nick Searcy, Jacob Pitts, David Meunier, Raymond Barry and Jim Beaver provided a few teasers about what is going on for Ava, Art, Tim, Johnny, Arlo and Shelby this season: [Read more…]

Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins Teases JUSTIFIED’s Fourth Season Return (Think: Mystery, Uneasy Alliances and Sins of the Father!)

January 8, 2013 By Tiffany Vogt Leave a Comment

justified season 4

The past three seasons of JUSTIFIED have taught us that Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is not a man to be trifled with. He does not seek trouble, but if trouble comes looking for him, he will greet it head on, shooting first, and asking questions later.  But as can be expected for a man who chose to be a U.S. Marshal and who found himself thrust back into the serpent’s nest of a community rife with lawlessness and criminal enterprises, trouble lurks around every corner. GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Top Scribe Speaks!

November 16, 2012 By theTVaddict 1 Comment

Over the past few months, GENERAL HOSPITAL fans have been rocked by one revelation after another, from Jason’s death to A.J.’s return… and of course, the moment when Duke ripped off that rubber mask to reveal that he was actually Faison in disguise. And the man who has been behind all of those shocking twists is Ron Carlivati, the show’s head writer who, along with executive producer Frank Valentini, came on board the troubled show shortly after ABC had axed its only other sudsers, ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
