Most Anticipated TV Series for Students in 2022

August 18, 2021 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

The creativity of writers is never an issue in the production and creation of television shows. They always come up with stories and concepts that fascinate audiences of all ages.

What really makes a show click is a plot that the audience cannot determine and anything can still happen. As a student, if you love watching TV shows when you’re not studying, here are some of the most anticipated to look out for.

The Lord of the Rings
The movie versions of both novels by J.R.R. Tolkien were excellent examples of supreme craftsmanship in movie making. This new epic TV drama set thousands of years before “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” will no doubt be as exciting.

The plot follows a collection of characters, both new and familiar who will confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil in Middle Earth.

NCIS Hawaii
NCIS has always been a favorite of the critics and because of its huge success, it has generated several successful spin-offs. This latest one follows the career of the 1st female Special Agent who will lead NCIS Hawaii and her team.

In the course of their duties, they will try to balance their duty to the country and their families while investigating high-stakes crimes that involve national security, the mysteries of Hawaii, and military personnel.

Naomi
If you loved the DC Comics superhero shows on TV, get ready for another one. The series is a creation of the producers and writers Jill Blankenship and Ava Duvernay. It’s about the journey of a teenage girl from a small northwestern town to the heights of the multiverse.

When a supernatural event shakes Naomi’s hometown, she sets off to uncover where it originated. She discovers something that will challenge everything the fans know and believe about the heroes.

Ask help to have more free time
Students in college can’t spend their entire time sitting in front of the TV. You need to study and accomplish all of your writing assignments on time. If you need writing help, you can opt to pay for research paper service StudyClerk. With your writing assignments out of the way, you will have more free time to binge on your favorite TV shows. If you’re running out of shows, you will learn more of what to watch in 2022 in this article.

Sweet/Vicious
A production of MTV, this is a dark comedy about the story of 2 female students. Sexual assaults against female students aren’t regarded in the school, even as they occur regularly.

Jules is a victim of such sexual assaults. She joins Ophelia, a girl who goes after people who hurt other girls every night. Together, the 2 vigilantes train together to hunt down sexual offenders through a series of comic and dangerous situations.

Avatar: The Last Airbender
This show began as an animated series a few years ago. The live-action adaptation focuses on the adventures of Aang (the last Airbender) and his friends. They fight to save the world by bringing the Fire Nation down.

The Cleaning Lady
If you’re interested in medical dramas, you might want to watch this series. It’s a dark character drama about a very smart doctor who travels to the US for treatment that will save her son.

But the failure of the system forces her to go into hiding. It doesn’t deter her, however, from achieving her goal. She takes on the role of a cleaning lady for a mob, then begins to play the game following her own rules.

Ghosts
The basis of this show is the successful BBC comedy of the same title. It’s about a freelance journalist named Samantha and an up-and-coming chef named Jay, who transform a rundown county estate into a bed and breakfast inn. Later, they discover that the estate is home to restless spirits.

Dear White People
This is one of the more intriguing TV shows on student life set in Winchester University. A school predominantly populated by white students but an African-American student runs the only radio station in the school. She uses the radio show for a social activism campaign that’s comically misguided.

But most of the other fellow students don’t understand what she protests against. This comedy series is a parody that deals with black identity and race relations. It’s a show where you can laugh at the humor while enjoying clever social satire.

Conclusion
If you are a fan of TV shows and you just can’t get enough, you should watch out for these upcoming TV shows that will surely be equally compelling and enjoyable. During your free time, keep yourself safe by staying at home, curling up in front of the TV, and watching your favorite shows.

The Best Nordic TV Shows with Mountainous Settings

August 13, 2021 By theTVaddict Leave a Comment

Some great TV shows have been emerging out of the Nordic countries over the last few years. Here are four of the best, which have the additional benefit of featuring beautiful Nordic mountainous scenery.

Mountain Rescue
If you are a fan of winter sports, you may have heard of Åre in Sweden, which is home to a world-class mountain and alpine ski resort. As for the Åre municipality, only around 1,500 people live there. The remote wilderness makes the perfect setting for the Swedish TV drama Mountain Rescue. The show follows fictional emergency services personnel from the Åre community, including the fire, police, health care, and mountain rescue services. It stars Nadja Halid in the lead role as Zara Dawit, who arrives in Åre in the first episode as a new doctor. There are no crimes or mysteries in Mountain Rescue. It is very much a people drama, and as such, it is very absorbing indeed. Of course, there is also lots of action when the emergency services are called to help people in trouble. The true star of Mountain Rescue is the breathtaking backdrop, though. If you are lucky, you might even spot Swedish wildlife like wolves in the background. To get in the mood, check out the wolf gold slot game that features a mountainous background and is great fun to play.

Black Lake
For a darker and more fantastical TV show, check out the Danish and Swedish co-production of Black Lake. The Nordic supernatural thriller is a great horror mystery that ran for two seasons. It debuted in Denmark and Sweden in 2016. In the first episode, Johan takes some friends to a disused mountainous ski resort in the north of Sweden because he is considering buying it. After the resort was built, twenty years ago, it never actually opened to the public because a family was murdered in the cellar of the hotel shortly after its completion. Johan’s girlfriend soon starts to believe that the resort is being haunted by the spirit of a dead child. From there, things get stranger and really start to kick off.

Ragnarök
Filmed in the beautiful mountainous town of Odda, and renamed as the fictional Edda in the show, this great fantasy series from Norway begins with the teenage boy Magne moving back home to be with his brother and mother. It is not long before Magne discovers he is the reincarnation of the Norse god Thor. His mission? To fight those that are causing climate change and industrial pollution. Yes, the superhuman Magne becomes the ultimate ecowarrior. The Netflix show, produced by the Danish production company SAM Productions debuted in 2020. A second series was recently released. Not only is Ragnarök an extremely fun mythological adventure. It also features some beautiful Nordic scenery.

Trapped
This is Nordic noir at its finest. Trapped is kind of like Agatha Christie meets Fargo, in Iceland. The show is the most expensive television series ever made in Iceland, but it was worth every penny. After premiering at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in 2015, Trapped was sold to broadcasters around the world. In the US, the Weinstein Company purchased the distribution rights. Trapped has been so popular that a third series is now underway. But let us not get ahead of ourselves. The first series of Trapped follows the chief of police Andri Olafsson in the remote and mountainous Icelandic town of Seyðisfjörður, as he tries to solve the mystery of who mutilated and murdered a townsperson. With brooding landscapes, bleak skies, and a real head-scratcher of a murder mystery, Trapped is a charismatic and stylish thriller that you need to watch. It also contains more red herrings than you will find in all of Iceland.
